[Fortescue doesn't look as tired as she should be, but, then again, she's used to not getting much sleep. Comes practically in her job description. She's perched on the end of her bed — Jazz in her lap and regarding the device with a small amount of interest. And though she's wearing a bath robe and warmly covered, jury's out on whether she's wearing anything else.]

Are you tired, Cape? Because you've been running through my dreams all night.

[She allows herself a tiny, tiny smirk for that one.]

No, but... really. I adore you all, but a lady needs some private time once in a while.

I also wish I had some control over what happens when I fall asleep. Or falling asleep at all, for that matter.

[She bows her head, flourishing her hands a little as she does so.]

Thank you, thank you...

If things go on much longer, we're all going to have to take turns sleeping.

[There's a soft chuckle, and Balthazar clicks on the video feed in return. He looks unusually tired, but then so does everyone else.]

If only that were an option. I'm not supposed to require sleep at all.

They like bending the rules around here, don't they?

It's uncomfortable. Though I imagine being sleep-deprived, in this manner, isn't as unnerving as being sleep-deprived without normally needing it.

I wouldn't know, but thank you for the sympathy. How's the cat taking it? Sleep deprivation for them is sleeping less than 20 hours a day, isn't it?

[Fortescue tilts her head to the side, thoughtful as she looks down at Jazz.]

He sleeps in shorter periods, in general. I don't think he's really noticed how odd things are. Perhaps he can't process it the way we can.

[He mrowls curiously, as if he knows she's talking about him; she scratches him behind the ears with her free hand.]

Just be glad you've not ended up in one of his dreams yet. They're unbelievably boring.

That's probably a good thing, then. At least one of us will get through this nonsense without trauma.

[He laughs.] Catching mice or playing with yarn?

Mice. Er... rats, sort of. Very big mice, in a field. And they all run very slowly. Or sometimes we end up in big rooms full of great big tangles of string and rope and other dangly objects.

It leads to "did I really just dream that" moments.

[He probably shouldn't laugh. He does anyway.] That answers an age-old question, then, of what cats dream about.

[It's sort of sweet, actually.]

[Fortescue chuckles.]

I hope you weren't looking for something profound. Although, the rooms full of pillows aren't that bad.

Rooms full of pillows sound nice right about now. I've never been tired before. I suppose drinking wouldn't help with that.

Drinking is very good if you want to sleep. It is for me, anyway. Otherwise, I recommend coffee.

I don't know. I hate to take limited supplies from people who might need them. It can't last too much longer, I'm sure. Thank you for the advice, though.
