[Because he can't see Alec being anything but obnoxious toward Michael, and probably rather incautious, as well.]

I'll be there. I'd say with bells on, but that would be rather noisy. What do I need to worry about?

[Guess who really has no idea who the new arrivals are. Other than cheesed off, but that's every new arrival.]

My eldest brother seems to have arrived. Quite apart from it being yet another alarming example of the power this place wields, he's...extremely single-minded. And not all of us have agreed with him in the past.

When you say single-minded, I assume you don't just mean peeking under skirts and hitting on the fellows with big arms. [That would be far too convenient, Fortescue.] As much as I adore you, Balthazar, our captors do seem to have an unusual taste for angels.

[She really hopes that they don't switch to the Guides and Behemoths from back home, or else the Cape is going to become uninhabitable.]

Do you think he'll try to put the place under his, ah, 'jurisdiction'?

No, darling, that's me. [For just a moment, there's a hint of laughter in his voice, but he's quick to grow serious again.]

But thank you for the adoration, and likewise.

[He takes a breath, considering.] I'm genuinely not sure. I imagine he'll expect the angels here to follow his orders, and possibly lean on the humans from our world. [As for the demons...Balthazar doesn't envy them.]

Those of you who come from different dimensions, though? He might not bother.

It sounds as though that's good news for us.

[A military commander-type isn't always a bad thing, but a steamroller type isn't what the Cape needs. One needs to operate carefully in a diverse place such as this. Her humanity had found that out the hard way with the elves.

She frowns, a thought occurring to her.]

He's not going to hurt the rest of you, is he?

[Castiel and Balthazar were both trained for absolute, unquestioning obedience to the will of Heaven (which was, primarily, the will of Michael as enforced by Raphael and those beneath them). Both have shaken off that training, though. Balthazar, for one, is relatively certain he can't go back to it. Probably can't even fake it at this point.

So, he's not entirely convinced he's not about to be beaten into submission, but the last thing he should be doing is complaining about that to uninvolved parties. The angels here have all made their beds; they'll have to lie in them.]

Oh, I doubt it. I'm sure he'd rather just bring us to heel. The trouble is, there's no stable celestial power structure here, but we've all brought our old conflicts with us. If one of us won't play his game, that opens the door for a nice little family squabble. And bystanders might get hurt.

I don't want to see that happen. But I don't want to be an alarmist either. We'll all have to wait and see.

Fun and games. [Fortescue sighs quietly. It's much better when most in the Cape are from different worlds, she thinks. They have to find a new balance together. Too many from one, and along come its problems with plenty of muscle to back them up.

I suppose we bystanders will just have to watch our toes, for now.

Relatives. Can't live with them, can't hide from them in alternate dimensions. What can you do? [He shrugs as nonchalantly as he can manage.]

[There's a tiny pause, as Fortescue swallows back something that's either homesickness or guilt. Family, indeed.]

Oh, dear. And here I was dead set on trouble to take my mind off things.

Oh? Would you like to make trouble with me? [He sees that moment of melancholy, and, with typical behavior, seeks to divert it with bad innuendo.]

Of course, mon chéri. Trouble is much more exerting with two.

[French has to be involved if it's bad innuendo. It's like a law.]
