Well, welcome to the other side.

[ Dean's been laying low since this place decided to turn into an episode of This Is Your Life, featuring some of his least favorite angels of all time, but after their stint in the tunnel, it seems kind of dumb. They know he's here, even if they didn't talk, and Dean knows they're here, and what the hell ever.

He's got stuff to say, anyway. He spins around in his chair, revealing the wall of monitors behind him, some of them showing feed from the Cape. ]

Now we get to see what life's like over here. Ever wonder what those cameras were hooked up to? [ He grins tightly. ] Found it. Lots of seats up here too to make it nice and cozy.

[ Dean's pissed, and it's thinly veiled, but he breaks off from that to look away and then back again. ]

Has anyone seen Charlie? Redhead, big nerd, game for miles. Tell her to call me.

[ She probably just got lost in the shuffle, right? (He can't even fool himself that much.) ]

[Anita frowns, her eyebrows knitting together momentarily.]

I thought she was with you.

Did one of your friends leave, Dean? That sure is a shame.

[Because Zachariah is as helpful as ever. Try not to notice the joy that spreads across his face.]

[venatical]

[ Dean's eyes kind of tell the whole story, as the light in them dims and he shakes his head. ]

Haven't seen her. Thought she was with you.

[venatical]

Have you found Gabriel yet?

[ Dean can play this game too. ]

[Anita's jaw goes a little slack as that sinks in.

Knowing Charlie, she should have checked in with at least one of them by now.]

... shit.

Are we sure she's not just lagging behind?

[venatical]

[ Dean rubs his hand over the back of his neck, and then he shrugs, holding his hand up. It's the best way he has to contain what he's feeling right now. ]

Yeah, she could be. If you hear from her, you let me know ASAP, will you?

You lost our geek? Seriously? What are we gonna do for game night now?

[ Meg is concerned. She kinda likes Charlie. Even if Charlie almost pees herself every time Meg opens her mouth. ]

[ Guess who's been snooping around elsewhere? It's been your standard science lab setting so far. He's glad Dean was able to find something, even if thinking about someone watching them on all those cameras....

It's creepy, okay.

There's a more pressing matter in his mind, though. ]

I haven't seen her since we were in town. [ He'd searched the tunnels looking for her, but hadn't been too worried. She's smart, she would find a way out. ] You don't think she's still down in the tunnels, do you?

[Because let's be honest, here: people who make friends with Dean Winchester tend to wind up dead, one way or another.]

[They may not have known each other long, but clearly, they got pretty damn friendly.]

Did you make it through all in one piece?

[venatical]

Me and the rest of mine, yeah. [ He takes a deep breath and then lets it out, raising his eyebrows. ]

Gotta say, I didn't think there was going to be a light at the end of that tunnel.

[venatical]

[ Dean does feel responsible for her being missing, even if it's this machine's idea who stays and who goes. ]

Looks that way. How're you at poker? [ He needs to not... be completely crushed about Charlie being gone, so jokes. Deflection. Yay. ]

[venatical]

[ Dean hopes for two seconds his brother'll have better news, but then he doesn't, and Dean deflates a little more. He shakes his head, looking away for a moment, and then back again. ]

I don't think so. We were clear to this side before the tunnels caved in.

[venatical]

[ Hey, assholes who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Maybe the other angels didn't die, but they were super brainwashed under Michael's watch.

He narrows his eyes, immediately turned off to whatever Michael's saying. He could be telling Dean there's free ice cream and hookers, and Dean would still nope out. ]

[It's unpleasant, to say the least, that someone may have slipped through all of their fingers in the tunnel.

Especially the cute redhead. Damn.]

If I see Charlie, I'll let you know. But I've not seen her since before we left the town.

[Her gaze narrows, as she looks at the monitors.]

Where is that room?

[foundacause]

[ It's the Winchester curse, Dean. Even the damn machine picks up on the Winchester curse.

Just hope she's gone home and isn't being tortured somewhere. ]

Poker? Terrible. This face cannot tell a lie. [ Really, Meg? Really? ]

If we're going to be playing poker - I hope it's going to be strip poker.

[venatical]

Where the hell's any room in this place? I tried to backtrack and wound up walking past two rooms that weren't there before right next to the one I was looking for. Whatever this place is on, I kinda want some. [ Or he doesn't, at all, no thanks. ]

It's called the Security Room on the little sign on the door. [ He slowly turns his chair a little more, showing off how many chairs are here. ] Looks like it was a popular place.

[venatical]

[ He walked right into that one. ]

You wish. [ He should probably stop sort of maybe flirting back with her, but whatever. They've arrived at this point of their... whatever. ]

Bet you we'd mop the floor with Cas.

[blackmagus]

I think we're already on it, darling.

[Fortescue smiles wryly.]

And I can't say that I'm surprised we were popular to be watched... [She grimaces, hoping the scientists weren't taking notes when they were all in the bath. But who is she kidding, they probably were.] Have you seen any hint of our white-clad overlords?

[venatical]

Nope. Which makes you wonder where they went, huh? Did they find a way out and didn't leave a note?

[ He moves back and forth in the chair; it's a fun chair, he can't help it. Even if everything else in this room sucks. ]

Maybe the machine zapped 'em all outta here, but I don't buy that one really, either. That's an awful big coincidence.

If that's true, it would suggest that the machine is entirely in control, now. [That thought is... uncomfortable.] It's a pity. I was at least going to complain about the upkeep of their facility. Or the lack of it, beyond commonly used rooms.

[She's joking, of course. It would have been a bit more involved than a complaint box. They needed to answer for whatever they'd done and... where they'd gotten this machine.]

I don't think they were keen on escaping. This doesn't strike me as a place they couldn't get out of. And yet... no bodies, to indicate the fact that they didn't want to leave. Or at least, none that I've found...

Yeah. Last I saw she bailing on me to come find you. I said adios and went on about my day. I'm not really the babysitting type. She got through alright and that's kinda where it ends for me. [ Yes. This is just a great way to phrase all of this, Alec. ] Don't worry. She's probably off perving on Anita or something. The chick likes her--parts.

[ Aw Dean. Don't stop flirting. It'd hurt her precious little feelings. You're her favourite human. ]

I can think of plenty of better things do with naked with Cas than play poker.

Do I need to draw you a picture or can your imagination work it out?

/ominous laughter

[venatical]

I haven't found any of that stuff either. Maybe some of their notes lying around in one of the labs, stuff I would've thought they'd pack up and take with them, but hell, maybe it's useless.

[ He rubs his hand over his face and then slumps back in his seat, thinking. ]

Maybe the machine got mad at them, huh? [ It's a joke. Because he doesn't realize the truth yet. ]

[venatical]

Never saw her.

[ Though now he feels responsible for her being missing. He should've been able to find her, should've checked for her. He thought she was with her roommates, though. ]

And she's not, by the way. With Anita. And I think the word you're looking for is lesbian. [ Yeah, that comes out sounding harsh, and not even because Alec's being a dick. He's being kind of gross about Charlie being gay and dude, so not fucking cool. ]
