[ The feed comes on in the middle of a one-sided conversation. There's no answer - and there's no video, either; just a nice view of a dark wall - but there is definitely the sound of slightly panicked breathing. ]

Dad told me what happened. It was an accident. Don't lie to me!

[ Silence. ]

[ Silence. ]

Dad and I did -- we're just fine, but that doesn't --

[ Silence. The view moves, crawling closer to an empty wall. ]

Mom -- shit -- mom, you're sick, okay? Let me find you some help, we'll figure this...

[ There's a frantic movement - a quick wiping of the eyes - and Galen still hasn't noticed that the communicator is on. Shakily, he breathes: ]

[ It's hard replying to this, it's really hard. Galen's conversation is like a minor variation on the spectrum of sane to crazy that Stiles had himself just earlier this morning, keeps catching things out of the corner of his eye that shouldn't be there. ]

[ Plus he gets the not so sneaking suspicion that nobody was supposed to see any of this. ]

[ Oh fuck, oh fuck. Galen jumps at the voice, then looks at the communicator, then points it away from himself because wow, he is a hot mess. ]

[ HE JUMPS. And quickly turns the video off, looking around his bedroom -- it's empty. He clears his throat. ]

[ He's quiet for a second, collecting himself, and when he answers he keeps the communicator pointed at the wall. ]

I -- yeah. That wasn't supposed to go out.

[ Stiles pauses a moment to rub at his nose, and even though Galen's not on screen to be seeing, there's a bit of a worry knitting his eyebrows together. ]

[ Ohgod. He doesn't open it just yet; he needs to collect himself a little. ]

I'm -- fine, Kenzi, I just -- I must not be getting enough sleep.

[ He cuts himself off short, because that's crazy, but if Galen's crazy too it's not so crazy? He has no idea where shared psychosis goes on that scale he was talking about earlier, but it's pretty bad. Stiles worries at his bottom lip. ]
