[ She looks around for a moment, then back at the communicator. Her brows furrow slightly, but she still looks somewhat casual about the whole thing. It's a look she's working hard for. . ]

What exactly is going on here? Because this sure as hell isn't where I parked my car.

Well... No one really knows for sure. But basically hi, you've been kidnapped and now you can't leave.

I blame aliens. Or scientists. Or alien scientists... [ Helpful, Donna... ]

[ Look, she's heard about some crazy things in her time, but alien scientists? She is currently giving the most disbelieving eyebrow of all time.

Pretty much, yeah. There's cameras everywhere like Big Brother without the tasks and without Davina. [ See, when most people think 'Big Brother' they think George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four; Donna thinks cheesy reality shows. ]

But aside from the cameras and the communicators, technology around here is rubbish. The tellies look like sommat out of the dark ages, and you can't even watch owt on 'em. It's rubbish!

Guess that explains why my cell's gone AWOL then, huh.

[ Guess the universe had decided to take her up on the challenge when Laura had thought that things couldn't get much worse. Kidnapping is one thing, but this is a whole different level. ]

Kidnapped and stuck and we don't even have tee vee. Jesus, man. How have you guys lasted here without killing each other?

Well... we've kinda been trying not to get eaten by monsters. Funny how that cuts into TV time...

Woah, woah, no one has mentioned monsters. What the hell? Where are the monsters coming from?

Well, it was more wolves and scary big cats. Dunno where they came from but most of 'em are gone now. I wouldn't go off alone in the woods though - just in case...

Pretty sure I saw some lava monsters and some giant rhinos too. [ Those may've been hallucinations though... ]

No one mentioned monsters!

[ This is so not what she signed up for. Not that she signed up for anything, but even so she's still backpedalling. It's perfectly understandable to be freaked out by this, right? Because Laura is kind of starting to panic at this point. ]

How do you even fight lava monsters? And rhinos are big enough, I don't want giant ones! How do you survive here?

[ Being freaked out is a very natural reaction. Donna frowns at the questions. ]

Water pistols? And run like hell and hide?

I don't have water pistols! Is there a supply somewhere? [ She's not normally one to scare so easy, but something about this is definitely setting her on edge. ] Hiding, hiding sounds good, that's smart.

Um... actually, I haven't seen any water pistols.

Hiding is definitely the best idea.

[ Okay, she's fine. She can calm herself down, it'll just take a minute. She breathes in and out slowly, and then nods sharply at the communicator. ] Alright, hiding spot. Where's good here, that lighthouse?

Rumour is it's haunted. I've never been myself though.

[ Donna! Really not helping the situation. ] Probably best just to hide in one of the houses!

Not the lighthouse then, okay, God. [ No, not helping, not at all. ] But what about the people in the houses, can they be trusted?

Maybe? The ones I've met seem mostly nice.

You could always find an empty house and board yourself up in it...

There's empties? Yeah, going to find one of them. [ As in, right now. The communicator starts to shake as she walks while talking to her. ] Alright, there's gotta be boards and stuff around here too, right?

[ Yeah, so maybe she's taking boarding up a little literally. ]

And the environment to boot. [ In case the expression hasn't clued everyone in yet, the dry sarcastic tone being used leaves no one in the dark about her real thoughts on the situation. ] Who says every cloud doesn't have a silver lining.

How do I keep them out? Christ I can't fight things, I'm gonna get gutted by giant rhinos!

Seems they're the native inhabitants. Sometimes they get territorial, try to take the place back... there's been a couple casualities. Those horns they have? Not just for show, seriously.
