[ She arches a brow at him and heads through the door. ]

Oh, I can think of a few things. That's one of the perks of being idle for millennia. You get to hone your imagination.

[ He follows her out and he finds himself hoping that she does try some time. ]

[ Castiel doesn't quite resist the urge to roll his eyes. Lucifer is powerful and cruel, yes, but he's seen Crowley use far more creativity in his torture. It doesn't matter anyway, because Castiel is hardly an innocent. He'd much rather Lucifer come after him than someone else. ]

[He bangs his head against the wall a few times, for effect, then looks back and shakes it. That's to clear it rather than particularly out of disapproval - turns out hitting your head repeatedly, angel or not, isn't a great idea.]

Ugh. Have you ever considered seeing a shrink about your death wish?

[ Castiel frowns, almost wincing as Gabriel's statement hits a little too close to home. ]

Whether or not I have a death wish isn't any of your concern.

It is if it involves some femme fatale demon running around with your sword. Just because she hasn't killed you doesn't mean she won't, and it doesn't mean she won't go after the humans or Anna or Balthazar.

[Because obviously Balthazar has just gone for a nice long walk. Hush.]

We're in close enough quarters here that something like this'll have consequences for the rest of us. You're welcome to throw yourself under any bus you can find or slit your wrists or go all Girl Interrupted on us if you want, but if Meg decides being a goodie's boring then it's not only going to be your problem to deal with - it'll be everyone's.

[ He sighs. He's not sure what he'd really expected. ]

I don't know what you want from me, Gabriel. I never said she was good. I said I trust her. She's not going to go after any of you because she has no reason to. I'd be a lot more concerned with Lucifer than Meg if I were you. At least Meg has a sense of self-preservation influencing her decisions.

[ Lucifer laughs. It isn't a pleasant sound. ]

Ah ah ah. That would be telling, and where's the fun in that? But don't you fret, Castiel. You'll find out eventually.

Yeah, I don't really want that to be her only reason. What happens when she does think up a reason, hm?

[In all honesty, it's a relief that Castiel's Meg's mysterious friend. It at least means that she probably didn't get the sword from an angel she'd killed or one who'd decided fratricide would be a fun hobby. Besides, he'd quite liked her before the angel connection had come up. He's just protective, really - mostly of his own hide, but hey, Castiel gets a passing thought at least.]

And Lucifer won't hurt anyone unprovoked. Not us, not anyone else. He isn't a threat, not right now.

[ He knows better than to antagonize Lucifer, but he honestly can't make himself care. Sam and Dean are missing and he doesn't think Lucifer with go after Meg. He's more than welcome to come after Castiel. ]

He killed you. He's killed both of us and he has reason to want both of us dead.

[ Castiel isn't even remotely convinced that Lucifer intends to play nice for long. He just hopes that when Lucifer does snap, he'll come after Castiel and not the others. ]

I'll keep an eye on Meg's behavior, but she's had ample opportunity to switch sides. I don't think she'll turn on me easily. She's likely more reliable than I am.

If he hadn't killed me, I'd have killed him. Pretty sure that counts as provocation. Can't say I know the details of you kicking it, but seeing as it's you we're talking about, I'm willing to bet you pissed him off pretty bad too.

[He sighs, drumming his fingers on his arm.]

Look, I'm not saying I completely trust him, but I'd know if he was about to flip. I'd like to think I still know him well enough for that, at least. This Meg girl? She could go off at any moment, for all I know. Forgive me if I'm a little concerned about that prospect. But for the sake of preventing yet another family feud - fine. I'm sure as fuck not gonna trust her, but I won't interfere 'less she gets violent, same as Lucy. I'd appreciate you doing the same.

[ He lifts his other hand into view of the camera and wriggles his fingers, giving Castiel a little wave. That's all the warning he gets before Lucifer terminates the connection. ]

[ Provoked? Castiel had just molotov'd Michael. Complete overreaction. ]

As long as Lucifer doesn't hurt anyone I care about, I won't go after him, and I will keep an eye on Meg for you.

[ He's relieved that Gabriel backed down. There are a lot of siblings that he would easily chose Meg over, but Gabriel isn't one of them. He can't forget what Gabriel has done for them. ]

[ She won't point out what she'd heard though, that the way Sam came back wasn't at all how he had left. Instead she just works a smile onto her face, as comforting as she can manage. ]

Then we'll look. I'll warrant we can get further than most of the people here. How much of the boundaries have you checked?

Mostly the northern edge of the woods. I'll move onto the west soon. There's only so many places they could be if they're still in the town.

[ It hurts him to even admit that. ]

[ It's supposed to be a light hearted comment, but it just comes off as more foreboding than anything else. ]
