Day 94 | Video | 001
[ The video comes on at a rather awkward angle, namely a slightly out-of-focus close-up of the small of someone's back, white t-shirt rucked up to show blurry tattooed skin. This is accompanied by audio, of course, which currently consists of a lot of cursing in both English and a language that might sound Slavic to anyone familiar with such things, while the person struggles with their position. Then the video shuts off again.
When it comes back, the position is really no less awkward, looking upward from somewhere near hip level, but there's finally a face to go with the voice - a face with a split lip, a black eye, and a scowl - before there's a growl and another minute of darkness and-- ]
Take me out to the middle of nowhere. Leave me in the tíživý handcuffs. Very funny, vy kusy dreka.
[ The camera is finally in front of him, taking in a glare and an angry show of just slighty too-sharp teeth. ]
What is this, then? Exile? Prison camp? One joke about animal control, Sheriff, and I swear. I will rip your ničvredenný face off. Give you a legitimate reason for this-- [ He sways a little, expression going a bit unfocused, tired even, and he pauses to collect himself before the rest comes out quieter, more matter-of-fact than energetically enraged. ] The Senate still votes tomorrow, with or without me. Branka can stand in my place. She's good, fierce... [ He trails off as his free hand gingerly touches the back of his head and he winces, the process of sitting himself down on the ground a bit too heavy. ] Úprimně? Just once, if I could be taken into custody without being concussed.

[Yep, she's just a locksmith, that's all.]
Might've stolen my sister's if I'd expected to be arrested today.
[ Because he knows he'd have to make that understood to his sister so why not this kid? ]
[video] - Action
[She shows up just a few minutes later, wearing a bright yellow rain coat over her jeans and t-shirt.]
Alright, let's see about getting you out.
[She's not the young, up close.]
Action
Nazdar. Nice trick, quick tracking.
[ Raises his hand in salute, still sat on the ground, cuff locked below the communicator on his wrist. ]
no subject
[She settles down, pulling out a roll of picks.]
And not so fast. Whenever anyone shows up, they appear at the fountain. I don't live far away. I'm Jubes.
no subject
Vlkodlak patois, not Russian. Fluent in English, German, Austrian, Czech, Slovak, Slovenian, and Hungarian. Russian, however-- To a native, I'd sound like a tourist.
[ Settles his elbows on his knees. ]
Raum.

[Her touch is light and there's a swift twist of the lockpicks and the cuff comes immediately free. She slips the picks back into their proper places.]
It's nice to meet you.
no subject
Not entirely certain what bad parents have to do with what languages you speak and how you use them but--
[ Shrugs, rubbing at his wrist a bit before pocketing the handcuffs. ]
All things considered, mládě, I'd say the same for meeting you. At least, lacking the steel bracelet is a bonus.
no subject
[She shrugs and tucks her kit into her coat.]
They give you a handy dandy living assignment?
no subject
Being as you're here, I've little doubt of that. [ Shrug. Least I can say is at least all my affairs are left in more capable hands than mine.
[ Has to legitimately think a moment, still a little bit woozy from the blow to his head prior to arrival, before looking down at the communicator. ]
Ah. Right. Something about a house number 17. Which is cute, really, expecting me to actually live in a house.
no subject
[She's not proud of that, it's just a simple fact of life for her.]
Seventeen huh? That's not too far from here. And really, it's house or the lighthouse and I think someone already lives there.
[She shrugs.]
Better than the woods.
no subject
Maybe I'll camp under the porch.
[ He's only sort of joking. ]
no subject
You sound like my Dad. But, the beds are at least a little more comfortable than the porch. I'd offer my place, but I've got a full house, unfortunately.
no subject
[ He shrugs and the next is a statement too close to the current situation for his liking. ]
The government had their troubles forcing us to settle but I suppose they managed in the end. [ Wrinkles his nose and huffs, a bit like a large and very annoyed puppy. ] I do not like being held still.
no subject
[She slumps next to him, leaning her back against the fountain.]
We're being watched all the time, so escape attempts are a bit thin on the ground.

So it's a zoo. Once upon a time, before my people had their own voice in politics, there was talk of putting us all in camps, parks, for our own safety and the safety of those around us. We called the idea zoos. Never for the captive, only the captor. [ He's rambling a bit, grumpy and still a bit woozy. ] Government sanctioned slavery. Street-side gawkers and their socially acceptable voyeurism.

Positive spin: Really bad reality TV. Not like there's anything but really bad reality TV, but it's the best that I got. And you're kinda preachin' to the choir here. Back home... it was one of many ideas put forth to control the "menace".
