Hello, everyone. [She sounds much less stilted than she did her first few posts. Managing a sense of normalcy is hard here but she's doing what she can to pretend this is the status quo for now.

In between hunting, eating, and sleeping, she's gathering supplies for her home. Who knows when their resources will be cut? Lara doesn't want to be one of those out there with nothing on her shelves or no light in her room when that time comes. And it will come; she knows it will.

But - until then - it's best to try and make friends. Alliances would have helped her greatly on Yamatai.]

Em - my name is Lara, for those of us who have just arrived. I can't tell you how sorry I am that you're here, I don't mean to put a damper on your day but this is the exact opposite of a vacation.

[Which is seriously what she needs right now but...ah well. Can't have your cake and eat it too.]

I'm making this video to just offer up trades mostly. I have plenty of animal skins and meat that I won't be using. Letting it go to waste is just foolish so if you'd like to trade me something of equal value - or anything of historical value you can find here - I'd love to chat.

Oh, and, if anyone here meets a girl named Sam Nishimura...tell her Lara Croft is here and looking for a roommate.

[She smiles weakly before nodding to herself and shutting things down.]

What're you trading for? [ Dean's not opposed to the notion, but he's curious. ] Like... Why? Were you on Hoarders?

[ Seriously though... ] Do you need something? Something specific?

What? No. [She remembers that show, at least.]

I could use new clothes. Socks. [God she loves socks, now that she has fresh (dry) ones.]

But if you don't have any of that - antiques are nice.

It lacks palm trees. But it could be worse yet. [Meja gives an easy-going shrug.] Do you do a great deal of hunting?

Palm trees don't really offset the whole 'imprisoned' thing from my perspective.

[A shrug to match, Lara is getting used to living with that hanging over her head.]

I do enough. I usually go out once a day for as long as it takes me to catch something with snares or an arrow.

[Which could go from an hour to all day.]

I see. I was told that the supplies from our captors are getting very thin. But hunting is not a strong suit of mine, particularly.

[She doesn't need to eat. But still. She's going to help those who need to as much as she can.]

Do you see plenty of game out there?

It's why I'm making the offer. People need food and some of us have stockpiled before. I thought it'd be an even trade for having a meal.

There's some. But enough out there that it's hazardous to go hunting for more than a few hours.

With the other predators out there, I hope we don't strain the area. If they're not stocking us any other way, I doubt that they're stocking the woods as well.

Have you tanned the skins or preserved them in any way? Just out of curiosity; I'm not a furrier.

I could probably assist in preserving the meat you have, though, or trade you for vegetables.

On the good ones - yes. I'm afraid they're not terribly well persevered though - any understanding I have of the process is archaic to say the least and I'm not practiced enough yet so...

[Okay, she can tell when she's rambling so she just...stops herself there and focuses on what he's offering.]

What sorts do you have? Vegetables, I mean.

Might be smart to see if anyone around here has the expertise. If it gets cold, furs might be helpful.

[He doesn't seem to mind the rambling, at least.] I have radishes and basil in a small garden by my house, as well as squash. The squash isn't ready yet, but I've got plenty of the others. I also go out and forage every couple days for greens and the like.
