[Accidental video originating from Sam Winchester's communicator]
[The video turns on with a muffled smack. The arm the communicator is attached to appears to be dangling. There are several sets of feet. Behind them lies the prone form of Dean Winchester on the floor of the room.
In the background, there is unintelligible discussion, hushed and anxious.
Someone lifts the arm with the communicator and now there is a clear view of Sam Winchester's face in the low light. In the background, there are a few people in bright white lab coats. They begin to move around him, lifting him carefully from his bed.
The feed goes static and cuts out.]

I'm starting to get used to people just appearing in my house.
no subject
Who else is just appearing? I'm often told it's something I need to stop doing. [Of course, he doesn't listen.]

Kitchen.
[She heads into the kitchen, taking off her hat and tossing it on the counter.]

[He follows her, items in hand. He'd like to at least keep track of the nonhumans here. He wants to know what is and isn't a danger for him.]
What does he look like?
no subject
Like that.
no subject
I'll keep my eye out for him. [His voice is flat and unamused, but that might not actually be any different from the rest of the time.
He places the mirror on a counter, but keeps his blade in his hand.] How do we do this?

This spell is called Eye of the Norn. I've only heard of it, never tried before. Since this boy is apparently in your charge, the spell is going to function around you.
Theoretically, it allows you to see the person you most need to confront at the moment.

[He grips his blade tight, a hint of nerves to his movements.]

[She sighs, irritably.]
I may not be powerful enough to swing it, I'm afraid.
no subject
What do I need to do?
no subject
Across the heel, if you please. I need my fingers.

Once she finishes, she steps back.]
Try looking in the mirror.

His arm twitches and without even thinking about it, he punches the mirror.]
no subject
What was that?
no subject
It didn't work. [He looks around at the glass.] I'm sorry.
no subject
[She folds her arms, tilting her head to one side.]
Having a crisis, dear?
no subject
[He bends and begins to gather the glass pieces.]
no subject
Absently, she picks at the dried blood on her rings a moment.]
I'm sorry the spell failed. Cruac magic is difficult, under the best of circumstances.
no subject
I appreciate the effort, Mina. If he's here, I will find him. I have accomplished more challenging feats than that.
[He threw the glass shards in the garbage can. He'd nicked himself a few times cleaning, but those now heal, too.]

Don't tell me "he's my friend."
no subject
We have been through a lot together, he and I. We have sacrificed much for each other. I suppose calling him my friend might be inadequate.
no subject
I see.
Well. Then we shall just have to find another way to locate your giant.

If you notice anything peculiar, please let me know.

[And then he's gone.]
