Ned & Meyer § Video 04 § Day 114
[ The video, when it flickers on, shows Ned, a pencil tucked behind his ear and a faint bruise on his jaw, care of the earthquake a few days ago. Which is, as a matter of fact, the subject of the message. He dives right in, speaking at a rapid clip: ]
I can't be the only one who thinks there was something fishy about that earthquake. Fishier than the usual amount of fishy in this place, I mean. I'm not exactly new to the whole weird-things-happen-here phenomenon, but this isn't the first time there's been an earthquake. I feel like, normally, when things go sideways here they do it in a new and interesting way. The fact that this has happened more than once seems significant. We've been... trying to guess what's behind all of it, but we're kind of coming up short on the ideas front. So, uh-
[ Ned hesitates, glances at someone near him, and then turns the camera towards the other half of the 'we' in question. Meyer sits near him, busily scribbling something into his small notebook, which looks to be running out of pages quickly. He looks up when Ned turns the camera to him, and offers that slightly too-toothy smile, brushing his hair back from his forehead. ]
Like everything else that goes on around here, different people witness different things. For our parts, we only saw a small amount of what happened during the earthquake. We need more information.
[ He gestures to the papers strewn in front of them. ]
I don't doubt that our captors're somehow... involved in this. It doesn't seem like a coincidence that we've had other earthquakes. So if any of you saw anything out of the ordinary -- more out of the ordinary than usual for this place, I mean -- it'd be appreciated if you could tell us. Maybe we can get to the bottom of at least some of this.
(OOC: Since this is a joint post, either Meyer or Ned will respond - if you have a urgent preference just let us know!)

[ Most of the crap Clint's encountered has been weird. Everything from dealing with Thor for the first time right up until he was called in to watch over the doc and his merry band of science misfits. Nothing has really been normal in Clint Barton's life. This earthquake? Who knows. It's not like he keeps an earthquake log. ]
Yeah. A few. Mostly overseas. I was trying to restring my bow when it happened. Power surged earlier? Communicators worked like a charm during it. That's a little weird right?

It does strike me as odd that this isn't the first earthquake that's happened here. I can't help but think that that can't be a coincidence.

Sure, there're areas that have more earthquakes than others, but this place reminds me of the East Coast, and I don't remember there being many earthquakes there.
[A shake of his head.]
As far as I've been informed, no, the animals didn't behave strangely, and that's odd enough in it of itself.

[ This place has kinda fucked him over big time. He's still not happy about Kenzi's departure. ] Animals were cool with the earthquake? That's not normal. Then again we kinda knew this place wasn't normal. The crap they're pulling? Not normal.

[He's attempting to introduce some levity to the discussion, but this is a hard topic to joke around about, considering they're all stuck here.]
No, it's certainly not normal. And attempting to figure out their motives has been an exercise in futility.

No one is this good at hiding what they're up to. Even if they were trained by someone considering the best this wasn't how things went. This was different. ] I mean I don't know many guys who can sneak into rooms like them and just--kidnap you under a house full of people's noses.

[Including him, but, well... that's a discussion for another time.]
And let me guess, you don't remember any of what happened once they took you?

[ They'll form a club where Ned spends the majority of his time carrying everyone to safety. ]
I remember bits and pieces. It's all very hazy. It's hard to remember. Everytime I think I get close--it all fades away.

[He sighs.]
It concerns me, imagining what their experiments might entail.
