001 | Video | Day 136
[She’d tried handling things covertly at first. After all, you didn’t draw unnecessary attention to yourself if you didn’t have to, right? First rule of being a cat burglar – except that didn’t exactly apply here, since she hadn’t gone out of her way to break in. She never broke into a place she couldn’t get out of, and as far as she could tell, this place didn’t have an exit. Not that she could find, anyway, and she’d searched damn near everywhere.
That meant it was time to turn her attention elsewhere. Whoever had brought her here had done good work, managing to knock her out so thoroughly that she didn’t remember. Sounded a whole lot like Manticore, but she’d burned the last facility they’d dragged her into to the ground. If any stray remnants of the organization were still kicking, she doubts they would be this sloppy.
They’d left her a phone. She was damn well going to use it.]
Consider this a public service announcement for anyone out there who gives a damn. Me and labs? We don’t exactly mesh.
[She’s seen enough of them to last her several lifetimes, thanks.]
Oh, I know, blowing hot air around isn’t going to impress anyone, but I’m not looking to impress. This is a warning. The last facility that tried to lock me up became a pile of ashes pretty damn quick.
[She’ll get out. Manticore had seemed impossible to escape, but she’d managed it all the same – twice. She could pull it off again, even if she didn’t have an accomplice this time. She’d manage.]
You labcoat types never learn, do you? You’re never gonna break me, and that’s not a challenge. That’s just fact. So I hope you’re listening, because you’re going to seriously regret trying to cage me. I’ve yet to come up against a cage that’s strong enough to hold.

Someone to keep an eye on?
[Hard to tell. Sounds like Alec might be writing him off as inconsequential, but that's nothing new. Alec has been known to play things off as insignificant even if he felt otherwise.
Anyway. Down to business.]
I need you to tell me everything you know about this place. You said it was a kidnapping. Kidnapped by who?
[Who would be dumb enough to kidnap them, anyway?]

[ He's writing him off because he can't stand to be in the dude's presence for more than a few seconds. He found an ally in Balthazar because he was a cool dude, but also he didn't mind when Alec ragged on Dean. That was his favorite thing about his new friend. ]
I actually don't know. They do a pretty good job of keeping a tight lid on their secret identities. They got juice though Max. Big major power. They'd make Ames and his Familiar boy band look like a buncha little girls.

[That's all there is to say about that. If he was dangerous, Alec would have told her so. If he's not a clone or some other kind of Manticore project, she doesn't have the time to waste worrying about it. She's got problems enough of her own, most of which she's been the cause of.]
Please tell me they're not putting people on the snake-blood diet here, too.
[She's so not about a repeat of that incident.]
Okay. So we're talking power. But we don't know who they are, or how many they are. Sounds like we need to get sleuthing.

[ He'd love to show Dean what he's capable of. It'd be like a more fun version of show and tell. Violence fueled.
Alec can walk and talk like a person, but when it comes right down to it he speaks better when it comes to violence. He can speak (or learn) a variety of languages, but violence is where he's the most fluent. ]
Ew. No. I did get taken under water by a sea monster though. That sucked. Manticore training actually helped out there.
[ He crinkles his nose. He was enjoying relaxing here. She wants to go and super sleuth it up. ]
Do you not possess the ability to just sit still? Max, this place is whacked out. Don't make it worse.

Leave Logan out of this.
[It's none of his business, anyway.
But he's right. She's not content to just sit still.]
The fact that this place is whack is exactly why we have to figure out what the scoop is here. We won't get very far if we don't know the whole dealio.
