Ranger's log 002 | Video | Day 152
[At first, there is just noise, the rough pant of breath and rush of floor beneath the camera’s feed, but soon enough the ground stops running by so fast, and there’s the little click of claws upon the floor, and a shot of paws. A sharp, ”Max! Drop it!” rises in the background, and with a loud whine, the comm clatters to the floor, covered in drool. There’s a shot of the wrinkled face of a bulldog snuffling at the downed technology, before his owner scoops it up and wipes it off, feed shifting quickly.
It’s only when Chuck holds the comm up to check for damage that he notices the blinking red light, and scowls at the comm before turning towards the dog.]
Dammit Max. [There’s a puppyish whine, and Chuck shifts as if someone leaned their weight against him, before he turns back towards the camera.] Right, I realize kidnappin’ humans is old hat by now, but dogs? Is that common?
[He shakes his head, going to shut off the feed, before pausing and panning over to show where Max is flopped at his feet, tongue lolling out of his mouth comically. And then the feed ends, cut short. Chuck feels no need to expand upon that.]

... but kidnapping pets isn't entirely unheard of.
He's a cutie!
video;
Yeah? Anybody know why they need 'em? [He...doesn't really expect an answer. Still, a fond look kindles in his gaze for a moment.] He's a right attention hog, not surprised he wound up here.

[A huff, though he's not really irritated -- not when Max is sitting at his feet.]

[ Nothing against the dog. At all. EVER. ]
video;
You havin' me on?
video;
Either way! You've got your dog. Yes? Good. Brilliant. Everyone loves a dog.
permavid;
Right. That makes perfect sense. [No it doesn't >:c]

Of course it does! What, have you never seen an alien? Before now obviously. I'm an alien. Two hearts and everything.

She loves your dog, Hansen. ]
...Max!
[ She's already come to see Chuck, but this warrants another visit. ] ...Can I come to see him?
video;
Yeah, c'mon over 'fore he heads out and finds you himself.

[There's a purring cat in Fortescue's lap, and he doesn't seem to care that the video feed is going.]
Jazz and I were a package deal, I suppose.
[Without Jazz, she'd arrive without a soul. Less fun for whoever's pulling the strings. Or more, perhaps, depending on your definition.]

Yeah? Guess it's just one of those things. [He rubs at Max's ears, far too pleased to have his best friend here than to question it.] Any others y'know of?

[Fortescue considers.]
There's a pretty lady with a rat, but she befriended it from one of the labs. It was here to begin with.

permavid;
What?
