[It hadn't taken her long to figure out the phone, but even if she knew how to use it she was determined to wait. Maybe she would run into someone in person and get better answers about where she was.

She was damn sure it wasn't where she was supposed to be.

Her attempt to leave the room was good until the door was about to close behind her and a red blob appeared out of nowhere. A quick slap didn't deter it and she quickly retreated back behind the door for a temporary reprieve.

Time for answers.]

Where am I? 'Cause this wasn't where I was before that dick interfered so I don't know why I'm here. [She has places to be. Kind of. The phone moves back a little and it's obvious that Jo is leaning against a door that has something banging against the other side.]

And what's with the red blubber? [Sooner or later it's going to get underneath the door, isn't it?]

It's very nice to meet you, Jo! Though I do wish the circumstance could be better. My name is Christine.

[She shifts a little, angling her body differently so she doesn't get so tired holding the door closed.]

Where did you live before you came to this place?

[That's a complicated question, Christine.]

I don't think I'm familiar with that place...

[In her timeline, it'd only become a state fourteen years earlier, but she doesn't know much of the US, outside major cities. She'd never been there.]

[Jo laughs quietly despite the situation.]

Not a lot of people are. It's okay.

Based on your accent...is it somewhere in America?

[Her own is a bit strange - not quite Swedish anymore but not Parisian, either. She's very clearly European, at the very least.]

Yeah. I guess I coulda just said America. [She shrugs and shifts against the door.]

What part of Europe are you from?

[seraphique]

That's lovely. I'd like to visit it some day...if I can.

[Perhaps, if she found a way out of this place and got to go home, she could go away there with Raoul for a while, forget the horrors the Phantom - Erik - inflicted on her, then return to her life's work.]

I'm originally from Sweden, but my father and I moved from there quite early on. We did a lot of traveling. I live in Paris now.
