Well, now. Think I finally got the hang of this thing.

[He gives the camera an easy smile as he settles in, seated in the room he's claimed for himself with his feet up on the table, legs crossed. Perfectly at home, despite the cold and potentially sterile environment. Sure beats Purgatory, anyway.]

Wonderin' if there's anyone I can talk to about gettin' some grub in this place. Not tryin' to be a princess or anything, but I've got some special dietary needs. Would sure appreciate anyone who could lend a hand.

[That said--]

Now. [His smile fades just a little bit, gaze growing just a touch more serious. Somber never quite fit him, but this will do.] I hear some of you have been to a little place called Purgatory. Y'all should give me a ring, when you've got the time. We may just have some friends in common.

[Translation: Dean, get on the horn now.]

[ Woah. People weren't wrong about this place liking people from Sam's world. It just keeps on bringing in old faces.

Some are a more welcome sight than others. Benny is one of them. ]

Woah. Benny. When did you get here?

[Well, well. If it isn't Winchester the younger. Benny is all smiles for Sam when his face pops up on the feed, and his words come as slow and easy as they ever have.]

Couple days past. Been findin' my way, with a little help. I'd say it's good t'see you, Sam, but I gotta ask first-- still wanna kill me?

[Just seems to him like they should get that out of the way.]

I try to make it a thing not to kill my allies - especially those willing to sacrifice themselves for me - unless they give me a reason to.

[ He feels pretty bad about the whole mess. And he's pretty sure Dean doesn't believe that Benny willingly stayed behind to buy Sam and Bobby time. ]

Sorry I was kind of a jerk before.

So we're allies now.

[Hmm. He likes the sound of that. Much better than where they'd stood beforehand.]

'Bout time you caught up. [Nice of you to have finally gotten on the same page, Sam.] Hey, now. You were just stickin' to what you know.

[He's nothing if not understanding, really.]

How you been?

[ Hey! Can't blame a guy for not wanting his big brother to bestie it up with a vampire. And the Winchesters don't exactly have a good track record when it comes to befriending the supernatural creatures of the world. ]

Not gonna lie, it's been a tough few months.

I hear that.

[He's had a rough time of it, too -- being topside hadn't been the vacation he'd thought it would be. Instead, he'd found himself seeking a break from that good old immortal coil -- but Sam knew all about that already.]

Seems like I missed a hell of a lot.

Pretty much, yeah.

[ He frowns, brows furrowing. ]

Did you see Dean yet? He's kinda... not himself so if he's more of a jerk than usual - don't take it personally.

Been busy tryin' to find out if he's here or not. He made it over?

[Not that that's necessarily a good thing. He's still not sure how this place ranks, but as far as he can tell, being here means nothing good for any of them.

Well. Maybe for him. Few steps up from Purgatory and all.]

What kind of 'not himself' are we talkin', here?

He's here. Yeah.

[ This place definitely beats Purgatory. And it kinda beats where life on Earth is heading for Sam and Dean is what Cas says about Dean back home is true. Sam'll take this place - messed up corridors and blobs of doom included. ]

His memory is all kinds of jacked up. He can't remember Cas. It's like someone gave him a Casotomy...

First person I've gotten a straight answer out of since I got here.

[That includes Fortescue, though he can't say he blames her for playing it close to the chest.]

You ask me, he might be better off, but it ain't really my place to say, I s'pose. Any other side effects?

Uh... verdict's still out on that one. It mostly seems to be the big blanks in his memory, but whether there's more - time will tell, I guess.

Just one more pile of crap to add to the Winchester mountain of crap.

Here's hopin' you've already seen the worst of it.

[The situation as it stands is already bad enough, but if he knows Dean, there's more trouble to be had here than a few missing pieces.]

You two do seem to put your foot in it more often than most. That hereditary?

[ Oh there's bound to be more bad luck to follow! Isn't there always? ]

Pretty sure it's a family curse.

[Of course. It'll be that way until the end of time.]

Tough luck. Well, you know what they say. Can't choose your family.

[Or the curses that come with them, evidently.]

So no idea on how we might go about reversin' the process.

[If that's even necessary.]

We could try punching Dean in the face a few hundred times... Might work...

Not sure he'd appreciate that, I'm afraid.

No, but it'd be pretty satisfying.
