[ There's a scuffling, like someone's just tried to get up on their feet and failed, and then a loud, panicked voice rings out loudly. ]
What's going on, what is this?
[ More muffled sounds, then a loud tap against the communicator. ]
Why am I on a beach?!
What's going on, what is this?
[ More muffled sounds, then a loud tap against the communicator. ]
Why am I on a beach?!
In person, if that's okay? If not let me know, I'll redo this :)
Hi.
[There are more eloquent things to say, and wittier, but forgive him. He's used to you being dead.]
Not even the slightest bit of problem
Except that she doesn't, because she's still wary of all of this, and she's still half convinced its just a trick. People don't just escape prison, not the one she's been in. ]
Fancy meeting you here.
[ She's hardly more eloquent, but she manages a small smile as she holds out a hand for the ice cream. ] I hope one of them is for me.
:)
Who do you think I am, huh? One's for me and one's for myself.
[The corner of his mouth curls up into something that could be a smirk.]
Lucky for you, myself is on a diet, so I suppose you can have his.
[He holds both out for her to choose from - even without the effects of Bible camp, trust isn't a luxury rebel angels can afford too easily. He gets that.]
Re: :)
[ Her eyes flick between the two ice creams with brief mistrust, but if this is some mind game being played on her then it's certainly the nicest one she's been through so far. Ice creams, a beach and a long lost brother isn't exactly the usual tactics, so she decides to cut her losses. She actually smiles in return, and reaches out to take one of them. ]
I on the other hand would love some empty calories.
[ When she takes her first bite of the ice cream, an almost tentative lick at the top, she's watching him closely. ]
It's been a long time. I'd ask how you got here but I'm guessing you have just as many answers as anyone else?

There's a couple theories going round. First is some kind of afterlife, which would make sense except half the people here don't remember dying, the other one's just that some weird, potentially evil and ridiculously powerful force dumped our asses here. No one knows why. Maybe just for kicks.
[The first suggestion's mostly a bit of a nudge. There's not really a polite or sensitive way of asking 'so are you dead yet or what'.]

[ She gives him an amused look, almost but not quite a smirk as she says it, and licks the ice cream again with less hesitancy this time before continuing on. ]
But I think I'd remember if they'd decided to cut their losses and waste me. Quick and painless is only earnt through good behaviour, isn't it.
[ And all of that is laced with such butter undertones, despite her best efforts to keep her tone light and casual. She's fighting to keep the tension from her body, and that at least she manages. ]
What do you people do around here to pass the time, then? Besides wrestle with the killer wolves and Norse gods I've been hearing so much about.

[It answers his question, though. Pre-death, but not pre-Heaven. Great. Being who he is, he decides to avoid that area of discussion as far as possible. He fakes being too distracted by his food to notice. It's not convincing, but she probably knows him well enough to know why it is.]
Speaking of Norse gods, if people tell you Loki's been fucking shit up? It completely wasn't my fault this time. Two Lokis - it's less fun than it sounds, trust me. The other one makes Jack Torrance look like a sane and reasonable individual.

[ The conversation change is something she appreciates, Anna's no more keen to dwell on the events of the past than Gabriel is to talk about it. It's why she doesn't bother to push it any further, or call him out on his terrible diversions.
Instead she just raises an eyebrow, and she can't help but smirk a little as she looks at him. ]
Two Loki's? It's like Christmas came early. Not sure if I'm going to be a fan of anyone that you think is nuts though, maybe I'll just stick with the one I've already got.
no subject
[It's not entirely clear which of those statement's that's in response to. Both, probably.]
It's best you stay away from him. Not sure what kind of juice he's got, but seems like it's enough to do some damage.
[A brief pause, the kind you get when you want to say something but aren't quite sure how to put it, and then:]
You got somewhere to stay picked out?
no subject
[ After all, if he's actively warning her against this Loki then he can't be good news, and she's got enough self-preservation in mind that she's not about to go looking for any more trouble than she's already in.
His question catches her off guard; she's honestly not thought about it since arriving. It's not exactly been high on her list of priorities, and she just shrugs along with her response. ]
There's places around here to stay in? I suppose not. I hadn't really given it much thought. Why?
no subject
[Which is not what she meant by why, obviously, but asking without sounding co-dependent is his priority here. Of course, just flat-out asking probably wouldn't sound clingy to anyone other than him, whereas asking this way just sounds weird, but Gabriel's not too good at making these things easy for himself.]
And as it turns out, whoever used to live in this place? Apparently not big on apartment blocks, and there aren't that many houses here anyway, so since I've got a couple rooms free, you might as well take one. It'd save you from the terrible fate of moving in with the Winchesters. Plus it'd save some poor schmuck later on from the terrible fate of moving in with me. You'd probably get brownie points for it.

[ Her tone is light and teasing, but the bright smile that he suddenly receives is far more genuine than anything else she has tried out all day. She's tired, sure, and she's beyond confused at what is actually happening here, but he's making an effort for her and God that does not go unappreciated. ]
Are you asking me to move in, Gabe? [ She chuckles quietly under her breath and shrugs. ] I'd- that would be good. If you've got the space, that's... I'd like that.
no subject
[Lies and slander, naturally, but what else does one expect from Gabriel? He's allergic to being serious.]
no subject
[ There's not many angels that she'll willingly be around at all any more, let alone actively enjoy the company of, but it seems that she's gotten lucky just this once. As mixed as her feelings are about Castiel at the minute, Gabriel and Balthazar are about the only ones she's happy to see here. ]
So where is this humble little abode of yours then?
no subject
[He gives her a sly little grin.]
Nowhere special, just one of the houses the previous residents left empty. It'll do, though. You wanna head on over, if you're done admiring the view?
no subject
[ She rolls her eyes, but she's grinning back all the same despite herself. ]
Come on then, I think I've seen enough of this place for one day. Lets see what you've set up for yourself.
Want to fade to black sometime soon?
[She's shorter though, at least. He likes it - finally a sibling he's taller than.]
You'll like it. Couple of guys with taste like ours, you can't go wrong.
[He heads off, walking rather than flying. It's not as if he's in a rush.]
Sure thing!
[ She throws a small smirk of her own at him, and turns to follow him off in the direction.
She's been avoiding flying so far herself, not all that keen to out herself to the general public just yet, so Anna appreciates the walking at any rate. ]
Yeah, taste. Knowing my luck you've turned it into some creepy disco dungeon and this is all an elaborate plot to send me running to the Winchesters shack and out of your hair.
:)
