001 | Anna Miton | [Audio only]
[ There's a scuffling, like someone's just tried to get up on their feet and failed, and then a loud, panicked voice rings out loudly. ]
What's going on, what is this?
[ More muffled sounds, then a loud tap against the communicator. ]
Why am I on a beach?!

[ audio ]
As it is, it just makes her more worried. ]
Dean? You're here too? [ A quiet laugh follows, though she doesn't sound all that amused. ] God, all we need is Sam and we've got ourselves a collectible edition.
[ audio ]
No, I'm just your conscience speaking. [ Angels have those, right?
Wrong. It was obvious from what went down with Cas. ] Sam actually is here. I think helping with the clean-up from the other day's earthquake. [ Dean had helped a little too. ]
What do you remember?
[ audio ]
Bit of an odd question. I remember everything, I guess? I mean I don't know how long it's been, but I don't think I've forgotten anything.
[ It's got her second guessing things though, and when she continues talking again it's less amused, less light and a lot more worried. ]
When I was last on Earth Lilith was still alive. I've been upstairs ever since.
[ audio ]
Sam remembers stuff that happened years ago. He doesn't remember the current news of what happened with me and Cas. I'm just trying to gauge where the hell everyone is at. [ Because keeping track means he doesn't have to spill the beans and feel all awkward-turtle about stuff. ]
Okay...I remember that. Lilith died by the way. One win for our side. [ There's been quite a few wins. But an equal amount of losses. ]
[ audio ]
[ He's talking like that was a long time ago, surely she can't be that far out. There's a long silence, a small rustle and the soft tapping of shoes on ground that indicates she's started to pace back and forth slightly.
Still she maintains the calm tone though. If nothing else, she wants to keep her levels of concern relatively private. ]
How long has it been? Dean, how long have I been up there?
[ audio ]
[ It has been a long time for Dean...at least. It wasn't a matter he actually wanted to address at this point. ]
A long time, Anna. [ He didn't know what else to say concerning that. He didn't really want to come out and say that she was dead. ]
[ audio ]
When she finally speaks up again, it's much more quiet. Her words are clearly being chosen very carefully, and though she's trying to hide her concern it's still clearly audible. ]
Castiel told me some things about the...last time he saw me. Do you- What do you know about this?
[ audio ]
I know a lot. What did he tell you?
[ audio ]
[ It's still a huge curveball to try and wrap her head around, that somehow in her own future, she's just blinked out of existence as easily as that. But as much as she's struggling with the thought, she has to know all the same, so she keeps pushing. ]
What was I doing? I'm not stupid, why would I risk the wrath of Michael? And how did I even get out of prison? Someone needs to tell me, this is my death we're talking about.
[ audio ]
[ He sounds a little pressed. It wasn't something that he wanted to talk about right at the moment; he'd much rather forget it if he was honest with himself especially since she seemed...more like herself than before. ]
Look, it happened a while ago for me. Years even and it's not my biggest concern at the time. [ She tried to kill Sam too. But Dean won't get into that. ] You're not that person right now.
[ action time with dean and anna ]
I tried to do what?
[ Confused doesn't even begin to describe her current feelings. She'd already been thrown when Castiel had told her that she'd interfered with Michael's plans, but she'd assumed he meant something very different. ]
Why the hell would I try to prevent your existence?
no subject
More like...Sam being born. But...I was there first, kinda gets archangels pissed when you try to kill their chosen vessels. [ He turned to look at her, folding his arms in front of his chest. ]
It's ancient history now, Anna. Cas probably didn't even want to tell you in the first place. All that shit sorta weighs down on him.

When she finally speaks, she's so unsure of herself in ways that Dean's likely never heard before. It's been a long time since she's questioned herself like this, but what purpose would they possibly have in lying to her? ]
Ancient history for you, maybe. It hasn't even happened for me. Why-
[ She shakes her head, still trying to process what she's just learned. ]
So that's why Michael tries to kill me. That makes sense, at least. I just...don't know why I'd do that.

Heaven...I don't know...conditional training to get you back to the normal angel state of mind. You weren't yourself. [ The humanity was gone. The experience of humanity was forgotten. ]

[ That earns a very terse response. She breathes out slowly, and turns slightly away from him as her arms fold over her chest. In theory it all makes sense, in theory the pieces fit together nicely but she's not quite sure she can make herself believe it.
Anna's not all that great at masking her emotions. Angels are supposed to be neutral, but she's never been good at that and it shows. With a heavy sigh, she raises an eyebrow his way. ]
You know this is incredibly strange for me, right? I feel like I should...apologise. Make amends. Fix things even, but I haven't even done it yet.
no subject
You don't really have too. Somehow I think I can live without it. [ Because he did. But that's besides the point. ] We know the reason behind what happened...can't say it's entirely your fault.

[ It's strange, but she's actually quite relieved to be in this strange little town. Not because of the situation at all, of course not. It's ominous as all hell, and she's determined to find out what's going on, but given her personal alternative, she'd choose strange town in an ominous setting any day. ]
How long have you guys been stuck in this place, anyway?
[ That's a subtle subject change there, completely unnoticeable. It's hardly like she can be blamed for wanting to discuss something other than the results of her time in Heaven, though. ]

[ Dean would choose a nice place to lay his head down and sleep compared to running for his life in Purgatory. It didn't really offer a Holiday Inn for those that were stuck there. ]
About two weeks. Everyone showed up at once...we've already lost a couple people. But...[ They lost Jo...again. ] But it hasn't really been too bad. Wolves aside.

[ More so now that she knows what lies in her future, Anna is more than happy to have been pulled here, even if it is a concern. She wants to go home, of course she does, but home doesn't seem to be an option any more, and if that's what lies ahead for her on escaping this place...
She'll take retro fridges and creepy cameras any day. ]
Wait, sorry- Wolves? There's wolves around here? [ Well that's definitely taken her by surprise. ]
