What's going on, what is this?

[ More muffled sounds, then a loud tap against the communicator. ]

Why am I on a beach?!

[ A small, terse laugh follows, but when she continues she sounds much warmer again. ]

It doesn't sound so bad. A damn shot better than where I was, so I won't be complaining any time soon, trust me.

Seems the people here fall into two categories - those desperate to get home and those wanting to stay.

I think wanting to stay is a bit of a stretch. If I could get home and where I wanted to be, I'd go back in a heartbeat. But here's better than where I was stuck before this, at least.

So what do you people even do around here? It's very quiet.

To be honest... I have no idea. I've mostly kept myself to myself. Spent a lot of time baking and occasionally helping with stock checks and such.

I need to get around to organising a get-together so people can get to know each other better. You could help out if you want.

[ It's odd, but the idea is almost comforting, a throwback to her time as a human perhaps - or maybe just the idea of being useful - so when she responds it's with an unusually bright smile for Anna. ]

You know what, I think that sounds like a great idea. I'd love to help. I know a few of the people who've been here a little longer, I'm sure I'd be able to persuade them to tell the people they have become acquainted with.
