[ There's a scuffling, like someone's just tried to get up on their feet and failed, and then a loud, panicked voice rings out loudly. ]
What's going on, what is this?
[ More muffled sounds, then a loud tap against the communicator. ]
Why am I on a beach?!

So instead of telling her about the other angels in the town, Anna just shakes her head. ]
Not on our side. What the people behind this have got behind them though, I can't even begin to imagine. This kind of power isn't something I've ever encountered before.

You said you can heal. Do you mean yourself, others, or both?
no subject
[ Yeah, that is the angelic form of middle child syndrome Sharon. It has her distracted and irritated enough that she just keeps talking though, so when Sharon asks about the healing she answers without much hesitation. ]
Myself, others, the limit only really seems to be illnesses. It'll all go eventually though.

When you say, "It'll all go eventually," do you mean that... what, your powers are fading?
no subject
[ She's not sure how she feels about that yet, and she's not bothering to try and hide that conflict. She pauses for a moment, and then turns to Sharon as she starts to talk again. She has to justify herself, though she doesn't quite know why. Perhaps because she hates the fact that she could lose her grace as much as she hates that she has it at all. ]
You have to understand I never wanted this. I tried to leave, I Fell. Then they found me and I had to take it back. It's all that kept me safe, it meant I could fight back at least. No one has followed me here yet, but they will eventually. They don't leave loose ends.

Do you want to get out of here, Anna? If we can leave on our terms, go to wherever, whenever we want?
no subject
I want to go back home. [ The word home has heavy emphasis, because she really does. She wants to go back to Ohio, back to Richard and Amy Milton and back to her degree. What she wants and what she can get are such very different things these days though, so when she laughs it's almost bitter, and when she shakes her head there's a moment where she just looks tired beyond belief.
How silly of her, angels don't get tired. And that's half the problem. ]
I'm not going to sabotage any escape efforts, if that's what you're getting at. If we can get back in a way that means I don't return to Heaven, then of course I want to leave here. But I won't stop anyone else if that isn't the case. Not all of us have God's wrath to face.
[ That? That's supposed to be a joke. ]
no subject
I think there's a way to make that happen.
[She lifts her eyes to Anna's face again, her eyes sharp. She hadn't seriously considered that Anna might sabotage her attempts until Anna had said something, but she suspects - hopes - that Anna is telling the truth.] I appreciate it. And if I'm right, I think there's a way to help us all escape God's wrath.
[Wow. That had sounded as silly as it had felt.]
no subject
You really think you could do that, get us out of here and where we want to go?
[ Excuse her disbelief, Sharon, it's just that she's been imprisoned for a very long time. It's easy to be doubtful of finding another escape. Once, maybe, but certainly not a second time. ]
What's your plan, then? I can't even feel beyond the border of this town, let alone fly there. What makes you think there even is an escape?
no subject
But if they have a way to bring us here from diffent places, then they've got to have a way to send us back to other places.
This... God of yours. The angels. Can they travel between universes?
no subject
Universes...I'm not sure. Time, yes. We're limited to time lines, I believe, and even then you have to be quite powerful to manage it. Perhaps an archangel...
[ And she just so happens to have one of those, even if he may be in hiding for now. ]
no subject
So, what do you say? [Okay, that grin is definitely teasing.] Can you have a little faith in me?
no subject
I've got to put it in something, right? Consider me sold.
no subject
Great. When the time comes, I'll call.
no subject
Anything you need. Let's get these people home, huh?
no subject
That's what I aim to do.
Thank you, Anna.
