[ The communicator is still on someone's wrist, and that someone is walking with a strange kind of calmness. Occasionally smoke will get in the way, like strands, but not very often--not until the person lifts it to his mouth. Ah, it's a cigar.
They're in the bar. Hovering near the entrance, peeking in. Not hesitant, but cautious, and it shows in they're footsteps--big boots, heavy boots, certainly masculine--as he walks closer to examine the alcohol. The cigar gets put on the counter, and with a grunt--yes, definitely male--he hops the counter, heading towards the back to grab a half-finished bottle of whiskey. He unscrews the cap, takes a sip, and his shoulder's sag, grunting contentedly. Looks like the booze is Bondurant approved, folks.
All that without a word--it looks like he doesn't realize it's recording. ]

Hey! Did you just get here? Well obviously you just got here as in the bar, I meant did you just get here as in crazy-town. That's not actually what it's called, by the way, it's just what I call it.
[She steps inside, still speed-talking and slinging words rapidfire.]
Sweet hat! Totally retro. Wait... unless it's current and you're a time travel dude, too. Whatcha drinking? Whiskey? Seriously? Wow.
[... It finally stopped. She's just smiling now. Quiet. For now.]

Forrest never talks--is never one to saymore than absolutely unnecessary--so as the other blathers on (and it really isn't important, half of it, so Forrest will just stare) he remains silent. When he's sure she's done, he'll nod politely and turn back to his cigar, picking it up and puffing on it. ]

You don't talk much, do you?
[Action]
Are you the owner of this establishment, ma'am?
[Action]
[She appears to be completely unfazed by intensity and keeps at it. Annoyingly persistent are two of her middle names.]

[There. Simple answer. She's learning.]

There's nowhere to go, either. Escape-wise, I mean.

Can't go back?
video;
[ Tony can relate. And while it's always great to meet a fellow connoisseur of alcohol, what's even more interesting is the fact that he's never seen this guy before. New arrival? Or just someone he hasn't met yet? ]
Me too. What'd you find? Any scotch?
video;
He'll grunt in response, noncommittal before searching the shelves. ]
Yeap. [ so he's talking to someone on his wrist. Weird. He's going to glance around slowly, as if taking everything in, looking a cross between uncomfortable and confident. ] It's wet.

[ Tony's so used to talking too much that he doesn't really think much of that reticence. Not yet, anyway. Besides which, he's still a stranger, so he babbles on like there's nothing awkward about it. ]
Is there good stuff? Or is it just mediocre? I haven't really been through the bar's inventory yet. Shameful, I know, but I'm getting there.

I can make better.

[ And suddenly, just like that, he's Tony Stark's new best friend. ]

What do you want? Let's start there.

Right now? Maybe some tea and a warm blanket. Long-term, he wants Jack and Howard here so he can keep an eye on them. Going home would be his third option. None of that is any form of currency. ]
Hot meal and a good place to hang my hat.

As for the hot meal, well... If you can cook, there's usually food in the kitchen. If you can't, I bet there are people here in town who can.

We ain't in Virginia, are we?
no subject
That's where you're from? Virginia? I'm from California. And New York.
