So someone left me this- [ She holds up the paper that once held a surprisingly nice, red scarf that's currently loosely wound around her neck. ] And it's not got a name attached, so whoever it was, even if you want to stay anonymous, I just wanted to say

[ And it's about then that she stops making a sound, although she continues to mouth for a few moments as though she's still talking. ]

[ "What happened? Are you okay?" ]

[ He comes in, closes the door behind him. ]

[ She's still frustrated enough that that sets off another round of angry mouthing, the most notable words being 'can't speak' 'present' and there's definitely a few 'goddamns' and things slightly more colourful thrown in there too.

She pinches the bridge of her nose as she sits down again, looking over at Tony with a tight, slightly wry smile and gesturing for him to join her. At least he's stuck in the same boat, right? ]

[ Okay. He didn't get half of that. But he still wants to make sure if he is actually deaf or if they are actually mute so he just. Taps his pen on the paper. Okay. He can hear that.

He writes, "Did this happen to everyone?" ]

[ She sighs and shrugs, getting up quickly to cross the space between them and take the pen from Steve.

"I'm not sure." She scrawls back on the paper, "It's a few people now. Some are just being weird."

She's got no idea how to take all of this, and she's just short of full blown panic honestly. After all, it takes serious power to mess with angels like this. ]

[ Looking a little worried, he scrawls "Nothing like this has happened before?" Because he doesn't know how long this is going to last and that part is kind of scary. ]

[ Anna's handwriting has always been messy, but as she grows more panicked its only getting worse. She's trying to stay calm, she really is, but its not working.

The underline and full stop are done heavily, as demonstrated by the nib of the pen snapping by the time she gets to the end of the line under the words, and she frowns for a moment as she looks at the broken pen and then just sighs. She has a spare, but that's not the point. All but slapping the pen down, she gets up to get another one, and she makes an effort to force a smile in her face when she comes back, apologetic look very evident in her expression. Steve hardly needs to see her panicking too. ]

[ He writes

"It's alright. We can go see Dr. Banner. I'm sure he'll know what to do."

He doesn't, but he's running on faith and that's something he's got a lot of.

"Do you know if this has happened to anyone else?" ]

[ She nods at his question, and pinches the bridge of her nose as she drops back into her seat. It's hard not to let her fear and concern turn into frustration, but she's making a concerted effort to avoid that.

'a few people, yeah. galen at the party last night, i was with him when it happened.'

And look how helpful she had been then. ]

[ "How did that happen? Was it quick?

I woke up like this, so I don't know if it was gradual." ]

[ 'Very sudden. Opened the package and that was that.'

She frowns for a moment as she thinks, tapping her pen lightly against her chin, and then quickly adds. 'same with galen. i shouldn't have touched the package, it was dumb.']

[ He shakes his head.

"We are going to figure this out. We should get everyone together and see who else is affected." ]

[ That gets a small nod, and even a little smile. It's a good idea. She's just not sure how much it'll help.

'yeah, that might work. who else is there?' ]

[ "There must be at least twenty or thirty. Does anybody live here with you? We can ask them to make a post to the network, if they're able to speak. We should all get to the fountain." ]

[ 'that might not be such a good idea. my br- housemates, they're not exactly on the best terms with most people here' ]
