[He's not sure that he isn't blowing his cover in doing this, but right now that's a secondary concern. Primary concern is whether people will actually listen to him, especially given who he is. He's hoping so - this arrangement is fragile enough that one impulsive hero type could ruin it, and there's altogether too many of those in this place.]

[Though of that list, the only one that's not a hallucination is Gabriel himself, who probably only half counts as a pagan god, what with being an angel and all.]

Anyway, that's not the point. That's old news. The point is that he's dangerous. That's all you have to understand, 'kay? Think you can manage that much?

[Rosa's been oddly on edge for the last few days; condescension from someone claiming to know actual gods is enough to make her snap.]

[A snap of his fingers and the curtains behind him start to burn green. He raises one eyebrow and just stares for a moment - he'd be smug if he weren't busy being annoyed - and the fire goes out. The curtains are apparently unharmed.]

[There were many responses Rosa was expecting; that was not even close to one of them. Eyes widening, she visibly flinches at the fire. When she speaks again, she sounds significantly less angry, but still very tense.]
