You've missed a lot. You were right, though. You and I are very similar in a lot of ways.

[ He's not happy to admit that, but it's not something he can entirely deny at this point. He's killed so many of his brothers and sisters and for what? He had better intentions, of course, but that doesn't undo any of it. It can't.

He slaughtered his own family, betrayed his friends. It's no wonder that the only friend who will stand by him is Meg. He doesn't even deserve that. ]

[ He checks the house and scratches out the devil's traps that he finds. She doesn't have to know about them. ]

Meg. [ He appears behind her with a soft, fluttering sound. ]

[ Speaking of friends... ] Donna, how is your head?

[ She should be used to the randomly appearing Cas by now. But she isn't. She jumps. She'll never admit it. ]

[ She cringes at the mention of Lucifer. ] I know... I had a run in with him. And Crowley? He real?

My head? What's that got to do with anything? [ Defensive, much?

She huffs. ] It's ...fine. [ It's not. ]

Hush, enough about me, we're talking about Dean. Very gorgeous, currently missing Dean.

I've been lookin' for Dean. I'm.... he's definitely missing. [He doesn't want to admit that Dean is most likely gone, especially after learning from their resident turn-coat that when people disappeared they weren't likely headed for home, not that that's where Dean had even wanted to go.]

Inconclusive, but if you and Lucifer are real, he very well may be.

[ He notices her cringe and wonders if he's going to have to keep an extra eye out for her. He knows how Lucifer feels about demons and normally Castiel's opinion isn't far off, but Meg is different. ]

And I suspect my powers were never really gone.

[ She's someone he can actually try to help. What can he do about Dean? He doesn't even know where to start with that. ]

Dean's my friend. [ He's family, really. ] This isn't the first time he's gone missing here.

Maybe not, but it doesn't look like you can do much to help them either. Don't get me wrong, if some way to find them turns up I'm all for it - but as it is I'm drawing a blank.

Once, maybe. Even then, I doubt it. Not many angels have the power, the will, to overcome their conditioning and live for themselves.

Not many have the courage.

[ Especially when the reward for becoming an individual, an autonomous unit capable of exerting free will, is a cage in Hell. Lucifer can't blame anyone for not wanting that. He didn't either. ]

Fantastic. Well, with any luck Lucifer will smite Crowley and then we only need to hide from one over-powered, self-righteous, egotistical S.O.B. instead of two...

Don't suppose there's some kind of warding sigils to keep archangels out but let angels in, is there?

[ Gabriel is right, of course, and the fact that he would offer help means a lot to Castiel. He would have asked, but he also would have expected a refusal. ]

If I find anything, I'll let you know. In the meantime, I'll likely be at Meg's house.

[ That strikes a chord in him. He thinks of all the angels who died, the ones he killed. He thinks of Rachel turning on him and how he had turned on Balthazar. So many of them hadn't even understood what they were fighting for. ]

It's not courage. They don't understand. They can't figure out what to do without orders. Many of them find death easier.

Not one that I know of. We could ask Gabriel, though I doubt he'd want to help us with something that could work against him.

[ He studies her face for a moment. He'd thought that she wouldn't have any problems with Lucifer. He knows what Lucifer thinks of demons, but she'd been on his side. ]

You and Lucifer aren't... getting along?

[ voice ]

I'm sorry, Donna. I wish I could help more. If you need me to help you sleep, I'd be more than happy.

Azazel and Lucifer... I [ She pauses, trying to find the words. After all, she had been a number one Lucifer Loyalist back in the day. ] I did everything they asked of me. I would've died for them. I gave everything I had to them and their causes and it got me nothing. No Heaven. No paradise. In fact, all it did get me was a great big bullseye painted on my back when Crowley came along.

I fought tooth and nail for their causes and it got me no where. And now I'm your corner.

[Logan nods.] Mine too. I haven't been able to pick up any sign of him... same as the others. They've just vanished.

[ voice ]

I'm alright. Just make sure you don't go disappearing too!

[ Castiel swallows. He's overwhelmed with the urge to just... touch her. If they were different people, he might hug her, but instead he opts for resting his hand on her shoulder. In some ways, he knows exactly how she feels. ]

I'd like to see them try. I don't sleep.
