Cassandra Cain | 001 | Video
[The first thing visible when the feed clicks on is... an eyebrow. Well, two actually. Two eyebrows that are drawn together with a look of confusion. Clearly, someone isn't the best at tech-like things.]
Is- working? [Here have some button pressing and nope, that just turned off the video. The audio is still working though, picking up the sounds of Cass pushing more buttons and muttering quietly before it snaps back on. This time, she grins and her face is framed better, the comm held out to show she's still in her Batgirl costume, she's just taken off the cowl and her gloves.]
Oracle? Are... you here? In weird place. Lots of cameras, so... you must be here.
[With a frown, she rubs at the back of her neck. Maybe she should talk to the general population, figure things out...]
Um, I'm Batgirl. [Wait, pause a second. Maybe the actual name would be a good thing to go by? It's not like she's ever been careful with her identity in the past so why start now?] Cassandra. New here. Found big house, no one's here. Gonna... stay.
Well, in house. Will take walks. Could use... tour? Information.
... That's all.
[Yep. She sucks at communicating in like every sense, sorry. The feed cuts off completely this time, but Cass can be found on the porch of house 17 if anyone feels like coming to see the new kid in person.]

Re: [action]
[To say the least. He'd been too distracted with thoughts of Jja, and any actual hunting party probably would have turned tragic if it had happened, the way everyone had been hallucination.]
Do you know anything about hunting?
[action]
[You can't just start something like that and then get all vague.]
Some. Enough to... not starve. If there's water, maybe fish, too.
Re: [action]
[He doesn't want to tell her this, but if she's going to be here... well, she'll have to find out sooner or later.]
There was some sort of drug affecting us, a little while ago. Most people were hallucinating. It's probably just as well that we didn't get ourselves off into the woods with weapons.
[And he already he sort of misses hearing Jja's voice from the device on his wrist, even if it wasn't real.]
Re: [action]
But that's... over now? Do you know... what drug? Or where... it came from?
Re: [action]
[It isn't very good news to give a newcomer, and he knows it.]
[action]
Has anything like that... happened, before?
Re: [action]
[He grimaces, but they're coming around the curve in the road now.]
Here, this is the main street through town. That's the bar there, and there's the pharmacy. You might be able to find something left in either. The pile of rubble used to be a diner. It got destroyed in an earthquake around the time I arrived. And that's my house there on the corner, so you can find me if you need me.
[Wallie grins, warm and friendly.]
[action]
Okay. What happens here, for... um, fun, I guess. Or do people... just stay in houses, hiding?
Re: [action]
[Oh, he'd be the first to admit that sometimes he doesn't know what to do with himself here, but he suspects that's a pretty common problem. He shrugs; honestly he suspects people are trying not to enjoy themselves too much.]
We had a Christmas party a while back.
[action]
Was that fun? Get presents?
Re: [action]
[And only slightly marred by how he'd lost control to Shonsu and grabbed some idiot by the throat. More than slightly: he was downright ashamed of himself for that.]
There was a gift exchange.
