First, I wanted to share a theory with you guys. [She holds up a bowl in her free hand and sets it on the table, turning her wristcomm so everyone can see. There's a glimpse of the kitchen of the house, some silverware bent into odd shapes on the counter and one cabinet door taken off completely. The mess is actually bigger than that, but Sharon moves the comm in such a way that the worst is hidden.] I think this is the barrier we're dealing with. Our environment is being controlled, obviously, and most of the deliveries are from above, far enough that we have no way of reaching it without technology, which we don't presently have. [Though she supposes they could use the Hulk. But she won't put that added pressure on Bruce yet. Yet.]

I suspect there are service entrances located at various points around the border, but we haven't yet been able to reach them. I'll keep looking into it, though.

Second, I'm disbanding what's left of SHIELD. I've already talked to its members and feel that it's the best thing for our current situation.

However, if you need anything, I'm still willing to offer my services. Just ask.

[Times like these, "Thank you" doesn't seem like the right thing to say. So instead instead she just cuts the feed and goes to put the bowl away. That's that.]

I must admit I have yet to come across the varying theories regarding this place. [ Charles looks concerned as he speaks, his brow furrowed slightly. ]

Can you tell me more about how escape attempts have failed?

Professor Xavier. It's good to see you again. [There's a faint smile on her lips, because thank God. One of the good guys, even if he is younger and less experienced as the version of him she's used to. She just hopes this version is as good as that one.] And particularly with hair.

So far we've had at least three attempts to escape. Once, with only Logan. If he hadn't been able to regenerate, he might have died. You have met Logan, haven't you, Professor?

[ Wait what's this about his hair? His face practically spasms with sudden outright terror. Is this place going to make his hair fall out? ]

Ah, no. I have yet to make any one's acquaintance here by that name. I've heard of him though from the others.

I think he'll be glad you're here. You two were good friends back where I'm from. Though you're incredibly different from the Charles Xavier we know. In terms of looks, at least.

[ Charming asshole that he is, he just smiles. ] Not as devilishly handsome then?

[She scoffs softly.] Not nearly. But that's another universe, so maybe in this one, you'll be able to keep your hair.

[And legs. But that sounds cruel enough that even Sharon notices. She doesn't have to tell him, after all, does she?]

Please don't tell me there's a man running around with my name who happens to be bald.

No, he isn't running. [Yeesh.]

But he's definitely bald. His head's smoother than a baby's a- bottom.

Well, I'm an academic, moments of physical exertion are few and far between -. [ No wait, he doesn't want to be the same as a bald headed Charles. ]

How unfortunate.

[ He's so... naive. She almost feels bad for him. Almost. ]

The main escape we've had, we had several people, some of them with superpowers, several of them Avengers. Even the Hulk helped. Several people barely made it out alive. There was an attempt to reach the island - you can see it from the beach - but the person who tried was attacked, drugged, and nearly drowned.

Do you see these attackers? Or are they as mysterious as the rest of the tale?

People haven't fought us when we try to escape. They tend to be beasts. Some are metal bears. There are wolves and sabre-tooth cats, too.

When one person was kidnapped, his comm was one. We got a brief glance of some guys in white coats carrying him off.

One of our residents also got a picture of one of the people in white coats, but there wasn't anything to go on.

Is that mysterious enough for you?

[ White coats. ]

The person who was kidnapped? Did he come back? Had anything happened to him? Do we know anything about the uniform the attackers were wearing? [ A pause. ] I'm sorry if I'm asking so much it just seems like there is too great an unknown here.

He did come back, yes, after a while. He wasn't able to remember anything that happened while he was away.

And it's perfectly all right. I understand the curiosity. I'm only sorry I don't have more to tell you.

So amnesia is a known threat here?

[ Curiouser and curiouser. ] It's all very troubling.

I'm not sure if it's a threat so much as a blessing in some cases.

So. The woods are dangerous, the water is dangerous, you could be kidnapped out of the blue, and the food is running out. What else... If you try to dismantle the cameras, you'll get shocked, and whatever damage you succeed in causing will be repaired by the time you wake up.

If you find out if there are spies amongst us, I hope you'll let me know.

[ So Sharon can finally have a lead. ]

I'll keep my ears open.

[ And his mind, but of course he's not going to admit that. ]

[ She suspects that's as much progress as they'll be making today, so she continues the dance to close the conversation. ] Thank you. And if you have any questions, you know how to get a hold of me.
