It seems everyone's had quite the morning, so I'll keep this brief. If any of you think you might be the kind of powered up that can help figure out exactly what it is people are turning into, let me know.
In the mean time just...be careful, guys.
[[ Private to the Angelsibs andhonorarysib housemate Chuck ]]
As someone [ see Gabriel, re: griping announcement earlier ] has mentioned already, there's something weird going on here. We're human now, completely, and Balthazar....
[ All in good time. ]
Obviously it's a little harder to keep in touch now, but are you all okay so far? No broken bones, stubbed toes, fatal injuries? Keep in touch, okay?
[[ Private to Fun Ghoul ]]

We have a bit of a situation here.

That leviathans were dangerous, and she should stay far away from him, until (if) he gets back to normal. That she might care that it's still Balthazar but, at the end of the day, when Balthazar looks at her and thinks food, there is absolutely nothing she can do about it. That she was a human now (again) and that she needed to look after herself or else there's the very real possibility of her dying. (Again.)
But he doesn't say any of that. He says this, instead:]
I, uh. I think I'll be fine. I mean, I'm not human anymore, so I should be fine. If anything, you know. Happens.
[Also, don't think he doesn't know where you are. Is he going to have to come down there and pull you away from the kitchen? Because he will.]
Private
And yet, she still isn't moving. She still has no intention of leaving, because even if she can't physically do a thing to help him, she can sure as hell stop anyone else from making it harder. Not on her watch. ]
You're not human? Do you know what you are? [ Despite her distractions - and there's evidently a lot of them. It's possible to faintly hear Balthazar's systematic destruction of kitchen items from her place down the hall - she's curious. It's interesting to see just how much power their captors are throwing around here. ]
Even if you think you'll be fine. Be careful anyway. No one else should get hurt.
[ It's probably going to take physical removal to get her to leave at this point. Her logic is flawed, she knows that. If he loses control, she's gone. If he can't stop himself the next time, there's no way she can even hope to stop him.
But she lost him once. She failed him before, when he disappeared from the town and she couldn't get him back. it happened once, and that's it. Just once, never again. She'd honest to God
hahrather die trying. ]Private
They had taken His power away as well.
The had taken his unlimited amount of power, omniscience, omnipotence, onmipresence, omni-everything and reduced it considerably. It was more than just simply curiosity that has him asking around Kore. It's necessity. Because if they were playing around with His powers, who knows what else they could be capable of?
Why was another question as well, but one he thinks he knows the answer to. Unless there's an actual, concrete reason behind it, he has a feeling the answer might be because we can. After all, that had been his reasoning behind his Creationism. He created the Heavens and the Earth and the Universe for no other reason than he felt like it and wanted to see if he could find a limit to his limitless powers. If he and whoever this they were, were similar in anyway, he wouldn't be surprised if it was merely a test of skill.
It makes him a bit disconcerted.]
Uh... I think I'm Zeus?
[Which was a ridiculous claim, to be honest. He'd been human only a few hours ago, and now he had the power of a Greek God.
But, for the moment, there were more important things to deal with than their captors toying with them and his lack of powers. And that was Anna, a human, standing outside the kitchen holding a leviathan. He can't have her standing there all day and all night, for her sake.]
So, uh. I think, with you and Gabriel and Balthazar needing food, we're going to have to... get some more? Gabriel said there wasn't really a lot left.
Private
These games are just that - games, in the most twisted sense of the terms. They want to see what happens when people are pushed to their limits, and these are certainly hard limits. It's not going to break her, even if she stays here indefinitely. At some point Balthazar's safety has become completely connected with her being right here, and the idea of abandoning her post, abandoning him again is abhorrent. ]
Zeus. Damn, they're really not holding back here, are they.
[ Her eyes narrow slightly at the suggestion though, glancing down the hall before back at Chuck. He's right, of course. What little they actually had in the house is well on it's way to disappearing, and Chuck doesn't know the town as well as her. She should really be the one to go, but at the same time...
She abandoned her post once before. ]
He's right. There's a grocery store in town, it's probably not far from here. [ She doesn't often walk it, so he'll have to forgive her not knowing an exact time frame. ] Do you need directions?
Private
And some might argue that he is a cruel God. But, fact of the matter is, he hasn't done much of anything. Before he interfered with the Apocalypse--bringing Castiel back, putting Sam and Dean on the plane, etc.--the last time he used his own powers was centuries ago. Everything that he's blamed for--Holy wars, drowning children in the bathtub, anything and everything humans simply can't explain--he hasn't done.
But the same isn't true of Kore and their mysterious them. Whoever they were had brought them all here, deliberately, refused to let them leave, changed their very beings from one thing to another and many other things he hasn't been present to live through. Every single thing they've done has been purposeful. And that's exactly the kind of thing he disapproves of.
But nothing can be done by Chuck the Prophet. Even with his Zeus powers, he doesn't have enough information to act. So, for now he only shrugs.]
Yeah, I... I don't think they are. I didn't even think this was possible.
[Chuck shakes his head. Sorry, Anna. He's not going to let you stand there all night. After all, she's human now. She needs food and sleep and worrying herself sick was not the way to go about it.]
I was, uh. Hoping you'd go with me? Please?
Private
[ A flash of guilt crosses her face, because she probably should have done that. She'd been the one to take him in, after all, give him a room to stay in and relatively bother-free housemates. At least they didn't take up much room, if nothing else. It's easy to assume that everyone shares the same tiny shreds of information that the veterans do, after all. Maybe they should be making pamphlets to hand out when the newbies creep in.
She'd had no warning though, and she'd managed somehow. Besides, the knowledge that whoever it was that held them here enjoyed screwing with them a little didn't make the act itself any easier to digest. There are far too many things to feel guilty about these days, he'll have to forgive her letting this one go for now. ]
Someone should stay here... [ She should stay here is what she means, but he says please, and he's got stupidly sympathetic eyes, and she...breaks. She breaks and she's not exactly happy about it, but when she lets out a sharp exhale of air through gritted teeth it's not because she's going to say no, but because she nods her head. The feed shakes as she gets up off of the floor, then raises an eyebrow at him. ]
Fine, okay? We'll go get food, but we have to be quick. [ He's got her up though, and he's got her to agree to leave. That's the hardest part. ]
Private
[He knew there had been massive hallucinations that spread throughout the town. But that was really about it. He didn't know it was a reoccurring thing, he didn't know it was going to happen so soon, and he hadn't known it was going to happen to him.
After all, why would he? No one, not even Death, has been able to make him do something he didn't want to do. He hadn't even considered the option that Kore's them would. It was more than preposterous. It was impossible.
But he's managing. He's not pleased, and he wants more answers than anyone seems able to give. But he's well aware of what it's like to live with power, and so he can make deal. Besides, just because he has powers now, doesn't mean he has to use them. It's not any different than how he usually lives, it's simply more open.
But he's relieved when Anna agrees to go with him, and even more when she stands up. He doesn't mind making the trip quick because he agrees that leaving Balthazar alone for too long isn't a smart idea. But for now, it's the lesser of two evils, and they'll both have to deal.
He gives her a small smile.]
Thank you. I'll, uh. Meet you outside?
Private => Action
Making out like everything is fine, like she has a handle on this, is getting really hard.
Still, she goes to meet him anyway, mostly because she's already agreed but also because he's right. They need to stock some food in the house, now that her and Gabriel actually needed it to survive. Just another thing to worry about. She doesn't doubt that Gabriel's fully capable of looking after himself after all, she just also doesn't doubt that he'd stick his fingers into a socket without much thought for the danger involved.
When she gets outside her hands are shoved in her pocket and she's wearing a jacket to cover up the DIY job on her arm, but she's here. She's here, and she's ready to go, and a little impatient. Can't Chuck hurry up a little? What has it been by now, fifteen minutes?
...Spoilers: It's been three. ]
Action
Besides. Anna said they needed to be quick, and quick did not mean idling around.
So the feed cuts and he pulls on his shoes and puts on a jacket, making his way outside. He gives the kitchen a wide berth as he makes his way outside. Not because he's overly frightened of one leviathan, but simply because last time he was in there, alone, with Balthazar, they two of them ended up in a fight. And the less fights he can participate in, the better.
When he opens the door to meet Anna, he gives her a smile, definitely noting how impatient she is. It's almost sweet, the way she worries and frets about Balthazar. You know, despite him being a hungry, destructive leviathan. That part wasn't as sweet. ]
So, uh. Ready to go?
no subject
Ready and waiting, come on. [ She runs a hand through her hair quickly, shoves it out of her face, then starts to walk in the direction of the grocery store. It takes a moment or two, but she does soften slightly, slow down a little, and maybe it's because she feels bad or maybe it's just because it's all kind of getting to her, but she pauses long enough to turn, make sure that Chuck is following and let him catch up. ]
Hey, look. I'm sorry. This is as bad for you as it is for me.
no subject
But he's taller than her, just barely, and it doesn't take long for him to catch up and for them to continue on their way, side by side.
He shakes his head. ] No, I'm sorry, it's just...
[ He trails off with a shrug because there's a lot that's going on. Balthazar was a leviathan, he was Zeus, she and Gabriel were humans, and so many many more things. He'd been told that things could get busy in Kore, but he hadn't imagined it would be this bad. ]
no subject
Full on. I know, it's okay. Seems they like to screw with us, this lot. [ She gives him a slightly wry smile as she gives a vague gesture around her. Who else could it be, after all, if not the mysterious captors that brought them here? That's where Anna is placing her blame, well and truly. ] With any luck it goes the way as every other lovely surprise we've had, and it all rights itself in a few days.
[ And if not? Well, she hasn't exactly started considering that as an option yet, and until further notice she won't be. It's with that thought in mind that she starts walking again, at a more manageable pace this time, off in the direction of the grocery store. ]
no subject
So he tries to give her a smile, and he nods in agreement with her words. ] Yeah, I uh. I was talking to some people, and they said that things like this, they only really lasted for like... a week?
[ He's not sure how much value he puts in that knowledge, because it was secondhand information. But Steve Rogers had certainly seemed honest when he parted with that information. Besides, he simply didn't see the point of giving out wrong information when they were all trying to figure out what was going on and why the mysterious them did the things they did. ]
no subject
It's hard though. To have spent every moment since regaining those memories regretting it, only to have her wish granted right at the worst possible moment, to dredge up those two decades of simplicity that fall amongst millenia of a far more complicated life, it's grating in ways that she really doesn't want to explain to anyone. Be careful what you wish for indeed.
So she smiles as her hand drops back to her side, and she's determined to remain pleasant if nothing else. It's just another thing that's been thrown their way, another speed bump, and she can move through this as easily as she can anything else that's been thrown their way. ]
Usually it's not quite this scale. A little while back, couple of months I think, a few people started losing senses. It didn't last too long, a few of us couldn't see, I couldn't speak. That was about a week. After some tried to escape there was hallucinations, that might have been a longer. Nothing lasts forever though, this has got to be the same.
[ ...Right? ]
no subject
No, he hadn't thought much of Anna because she'd already done this before. She's been human, voluntarily, for twenty years. She wasn't like Balthazar, who had become a leviathan, or Dean, becoming a Trickster, or Gabriel becoming human. He has faith that Anna will know how to take care of herself, because she's more knowledgeable.
But seeing her now, seeing her sit outside the kitchen where Balthazar was practically being held prisoner and seeing just how worried she was about her siblings makes him wonder if he should have been more worried about her than he's been. And for that reason, he can't help but ask, ]
...Are you okay?
