[ He's distracted by his fingers first and foremost, flexing them, a distinct lack of claws branching off of each of them - just regular old nails, bitten down to the quick. ] I kinda miss it.

[ But he's here for a real reason, and his arms half-heartedly wave a bit to remind himself to get back on topic. ]

Clippers? Some kind of shaving implement?

[ Stiles gestures to the all of his head and his hair, which is getting a little- well. Un-Stiles. ]

I'll take a rogue pair of well-aimed scissors. A freaking lawn mower, man, Jesus, I don't know.

Wow. You're getting to be a real mountain man. Wait, is this a person or a gorilla talking?

[This is sarcasm, Stiles. Your hair is barely a couple inches long.]

[She holds up a pair of scissors and a straight razor. Both of which she's capable of using.]

I'm gonna be like Bear Grylls soon. Peeing into my own jars and drinking them for sustenance. [ His tongue sticks out, an 'ick' out of his mouth as he violently shakes his head. ] Nuh uh. Not for me.

There could be! Little- [ He squishes his finger close as if she doesn't know how big lice are. ] tiny pieces of awful all up in my hair.

[ But finally after a beat, he gives a shrug, cagily shooting out a vague, ] I don't know, I like it short.

Okay, we are so not that desperate yet. [Please tell her they weren't.]

Itty bitty buglings crawling all over your scalp? I think you'd feel them. [She'd had fleas before. She knew this.

But she smiled, tipping her head sideways as she looked at him in the communicator.]

Would you trust me with something sharp around your cranium?

Just the way I came out. [ He shrugs lackadaisically and then stops talking about things like his birth in front of pretty ladies. ]

That all depends, [ and he squints an eye in quiet judgment. ] How qualified are you to be around sharp objects?

I used to cut my Da's hair. He didn't trust civilian barbers to get the military high and tight right.

[She closes the razor.]

It's been a while since I used a straight razor, but I can do it.

Maybe we should. [ His eyes widen a little, playfully mocking, as his face turns into a kind of grin. ] Constant vigilance.

I think I feel the hair there which is the real problem. You can just sense it growing. It's best to kind of cut off the bugsy problem before it even gets a chance to get into action, right?

[ His mouth opens, a slow creak coming out of it before he speaks for real. ] Depending on the sharp object. Are we talking katana here? I don't do rapier either.

[ He grins a little at the story. The mention of parents is getting him a little stupidly sappy lately. He misses his dad. ]

Well, hang on a sec, how long is 'a while'? Are we talkin' years, months, how out of razor practice are we on this day?

[She twirls a strand of her longer hair on her finger, giving him a 'uh huh, right' look.] If you say so.

[A small laugh and a shake of her head.] Really? You think I'd try to give you a close and personal with a katana? I'm not a katana kind of girl. I've got a pair of scissors, depending on how close you want it cut. I've done almost bare with a set before. [She wasn't going to tell him it was on her brother after he'd dyed her feet indigo. These things didn't need to be shared yet.]

Da died about eighteen months ago. I hadn't cut his hair in... six weeks before that?
