[ If Dean looks a little worse for the wear, he doesn't care. No, really. He doesn't care so much that he's here and doing his job as a co-leader of the building crew, so there, take that, Raphael and Gabriel.

It's vaguely uncomfortable speaking to everyone like this, but Dean wants to get this project moving. He clearly needs something to keep him busy other than antagonizing angels. ]

Okay. So, this place is a miserable dump, but I figure if we try to rebuild the diner as much as we can, we can be miserable while eating pie in a slightly less dumpy dump. Every town has to have a greasy spoon, right? Bar's great and all, but where do you go for 3 am drunk food?

[ He slides over his notes and glances over them. ]

Tony, Erik, and me'll head up the construction team. Tony's gonna put together some blueprints for the structure. I've got... Jubilee, Meyer -- [ Heh. He glances up at the camera. At least Meyer didn't get his revenge by attacking Dean in the woods with cartoon creatures. ] -- Lansky, and Wallie Smith. But we're going to need to do a lot of cleanup before we can really tackle the rebuilding, so we could use some more hands. I'm talking clearing out the rubble, sweeping up glass, making it a halfway safe work space before we start going in there and seeing what's left to work with.

Speaking of stuff to work with, there're some garages around town. If you just want to scavenge your houses and sheds or whatever and donate whatever tools you find and don't want, that'll help.

Eventually whenever we get this thing up, we can talk about stocking it. I'll leave it up to the hunting/fishing and the farming crews to help there. If people want to cook there for people, that'll work too.

Anyway, when ya wanna start? I'm usually working out until almost eight, but I'm cool anytime after that.

What, like AM, right? Or do you spend all day working on those biceps?

I don't have to work all day. They come naturally. It's all the gymnastics I do.

[She braces her chin on her other hand.]

So, yeah. Anytime after 8am, unless Logan grabs me and says I've been slacking, then I dunno how long I'll be.

Yeah, sure. No problem. [ He just got roughed up in the woods a little. Okay, kind of a lot -- a medium amount of roughing up. ]

Don't worry. It's done now.

Uhhuh. You sure it's over? You wouldn't be trying to bullshit me, would you?

Awesome. 'Preciate it. Do you have experience with this stuff? [ Dean doesn't mind training people, but he isn't going to put the newbie on the intense jobs. ]

Some. It's not my profession, but I'm good at taking stuff apart and putting it back together.

[That should probably prove useful if they're going to be cleaning and building.]

Well. Give me a hammer and point me in the right direction. I can do that much.

[He grins. This isn't something he's experienced with, but he's almost looking forward to it.]

That's an important part of it. [ At least this guy seems huge. And tattooed. Maybe he was on a chain gang. ]

I don't know if we've met. I'm Dean.

I'm Wallie. Don't think we have, no.

[Balthazar appears in the video feed for a full minute without saying anything, evidently looking Dean over through the video. The screen is so tiny it's hard to tell much, but he looks alive and relatively intact, psychologically.

That's a relief.]

I like this plan. I'm not much of a builder, I'm afraid, but I'll salvage materials and help clean up.

Thanks, but I've seen you bruised before. I'm sure there'll be other opportunities, too. [No 'I told you so'. No jokes. If anything, he sounds resigned, or maybe disappointed.]

It'll be easier if you publish a list of supplies you need. I just cleaned out our attic and found a few things that might come in handy.

[Well, he's not so bad-looking, this one, is he? She chuckles quietly and smiles right back at him.]

I've got a pair of working hands. Just let me know when to show up!

Hey, alright. [ He will say something about the go-get-'em attitude of the people around here. They're pretty good natured about pitching in. ]

My name's Dean Winchester. You got any experience with construction?

[bluesrat]

[Rat is good natured about nearly everything.]

A little. I've worked some as a day laborer when they needed an extra hand or two, under the table. Markus Rathbone. Or just Rat.

We're very nearly a successful commune. [ Droll. Also, expecting the wheels to come off at any second. ]

If you're salvaging keep an eye out for protective gear. Gloves and goggles, that kind of thing. I assume most of you would like to have working fingers in the future.

Generally, that's the goal, yeah. I'm keeping a list of all the newbies, and I figure we're going to have to have a safety class or two the first few days. It's looking like we have a lot of fresh faces. [ Which is fine, obviously, they need the people, but Dean does grimace. ]

Remind me; you've got experience with this?

Why waste the effort tidying this prison up? Can anyone actually cook here?

Uh, probably, yeah. How've you been feeding yourself? You on a raw diet? [ He heard of those once. ]

And a group eating place usually a good place to start in terms of keeping a group of people together. Plus keeping people busy and the place looking not like a rundown piece of crap that got mowed over by an earthquake boosts morale.

Guessing this means you're not putting your name in the volunteer hat.
