[ Of course she's been trying to leave since the moment she had been taken, but it hasn't worked. Each and every attempt had been completely unsuccessful, with literally no effect whatsoever.
Until, that is, when one attempt finally does work.
The feed kicks in with enough time to show little more than white light, almost like there's a problem with the video, and there's the faint sound of wings. It fades fast though, along with the light, and it's replaced with the slightly dishevelled looking face of one missing angel. She's out of breath, a little dizzy and definitely disoriented, but the one thing she does before anything else is drop a hand over the communicator. It's black for a few seconds while she fumbles with the buttons, and then the feed cuts out.
Welcome back to Kore, Anna. ]

She barely remembers a thing, but when he kisses her she just knows that she's missed him. It's been less than a week, they tell her, but it feels like longer. She never thought she'd be so grateful to see this town. So Anna just reaches up, carefully wraps an arm around his neck and kisses him back. She didn't get sent home. She's still here, and it's hardly ideal but it's definitely better than the alternative. ]

But hiding with Anna? ... Maybe he can stay a little longer. And maybe both arms wrap around her waist and maybe he even lifts her up when he needs to breathe, carries her to the bed, sets her down so she can sit, and then he kneels down in front of her, smiling up at her face with his hands still at her waist.]
I did. I did call you. I called so many times, Anna, and you-- ... [The smile gets a bit wider.] Y'finally answered.

Well. Couldn't leave you hanging, could I?
[ She can't help but wonder vaguely if he gets it yet, if he's put the pieces together. Surely he can't have come to the right conclusion, but he's got to have theories, right? Acknowledging the existence of angels means acknowledging the existence of a lot of other stuff too - it's not easy, but she wonders all the same.
She'll tell him. Soon. When the time is right. For now she'll just touch his cheek lightly, almost like she can't quite believe he's actually there, she's actually here and it's not some hallucinated mind game. ]
...I can't remember. Don't know what happened. Whatever, whoever did it, they clean up their mess.

Just glad they let you keep the memories you had before. Real fuckin' nice of 'em. [It's said with venom, but he actually means it. Thank god she remembers.] But you're okay?

Okay, though. Okay seems like a stretch right now. It'd be all to easy to just smile, to nod and say yes and pass it off, but it's too soon. Still too raw and too confusing for her to manage that. Instead she just shrugs, leans forward until her forehead rests lightly against his and closes her eyes. ]
Maybe. I will be. I'm still alive, right?
