day 77: night: audio/action for samandriel
[So, Charlie still feels off after being away for a few days. Shaken, sure. Headachy from stress. She'd stayed in her room for a bit, didn't say much and then on the evening of the 77th day, she simply left her room and went outside, settling on the steps with device in hand.
The message is private, one simple sentence for a new friend.]
Samandriel, are you busy or can I give you that tour of our lovely town?
[By lovely, she means she hates it here as the tone implies. But, new friends are new friends and she made a promise.]

[audio]
No, I'm not busy at all. [He hasn't really got much to be busy with; he's spent this whole week resting and recuperating - getting outside actually sounds rather nice.] I'd love a tour, actually - I've still not seen much of anything of the town.
[It's not hard to tell from her tone that she doesn't like the place, that she doesn't really think it's lovely, but he appreciates the offer all the same. Plus, he's pretty curious and has honestly been itching to look around.]
Would you like me to meet up with you somewhere? [Not that he really knows where anything is...] ...I'm certain I'll be able to find my way around at least for that purpose.
[audio]
[Just to make things easier on him. He looked like he'd been through something horrific before he got here and Charlie wasn't sure how recovered he was.]
I don't mind that at all.
[audio -> action]
[It's not like he'll have to wait that much longer before being able to get out, right? And while it's unlikely he'd manage to get himself lost, at least her coming to get him will at least cut down on the time it takes for them to meet up.]
I've been staying in house eleven for the time being. I can meet you just outside?
[He doesn't really wait for a response before standing from the couch - he's ready to walk around a little and get out of the house. Being cooped up for a week, necessary as it was, has been just the tiniest bit frustrating for him and he's eager to see more of the town. Thus, it's not long before he's stepping out the door, though not without a glance back around just to see if any of his siblings are around. No one is, so he decides he can explain where he went later, should they ask. Closing the door behind himself as he comes to a stop and stands on the steps, he waits patiently for Charlie to show up.]
Re: [audio -> action]
How funny. [And the device shuts off after the sound of a door shutting. A minute later, Charlie's making her way down the road. She's grinning.]</>
I'm in ten. Just right up the road. Now I know where to go if I want to say hi.
[She doesn't usually take the time out to check on people or learn where they live not outside of Kore, anyway. Charlie's life outside of here hardly allows her the opportunity. Here, however, she was making friends for a few reasons. One of which was they were all in this fix together. Making enemies wouldn't work. Another and the most important one was, she can without worrying they'd be scared off by her ability.
She approached Samandriel, looking him over for a second.]
You look better. Are you feeling better?
[action]
Oh. Yes, I suppose you do... [Though he's been contemplating taking up a different residence - now that he's improving, it doesn't seem as important that he stick with his family, and while he'd love to stay...the house is rather full as it is. But that's not something he bothers to mention, and instead carries on to what Charlie says next.]
Much better. [Bit of an overstatement - there's still a bit of strength to recover and he won't really let himself so much as think about any of what happened, but he is at least better off than when last they spoke.] I've been resting all week, and... Well, being surrounded by familiar faces has even been rather helpful. As well, I... I meant to thank you again for your concern, and your offer of assistance. I appreciated it greatly, even if it wasn't necessary.
[action]
[She'd been worried. Seeing him in that condition had alarmed her some. But then, Charlie's always been big-hearted that way. It's been her downfall a time or two.
She smiles again, this time giving a sheepish, one shoulder shrug.]
Any time. You ready to head out? Not that we're going far. The town's kind of small. And if you need to stop or anything at any point, let me know. Okay?
[action]
[He offers a pleasant look though, hinted with another bit of appreciation for her concern and consideration. She doesn't know that he's an angel, he realizes, so the offer is likely a standard one for a human in the same situation he was in earlier in the week, but he's not actually physically weak any longer. Not that he can expect her to be sure of that, of course.
Instead of elaborating or speaking on the topic any further, Samandriel casts a brief glance around, then makes a general gesture away from the house behind him.]
Lead the way. I'm certain that despite its small size, the town must still have things that make it interesting.
[You know, aside from the cameras and the general fact that they're all trapped here.]
Re: [action]
[Except Charlie doesn't find this really unfortunate. She just assumes people would find it odd that she'd rather be there than around others. As nice as she's being right now, this is not normal. She's not typically social. She doesn't think she can afford to be. It's too big a risk.
She starts walking, a careful pace. Slow enough to point out different parts of town.]
Did anyone tell you about the woods, yet?
[perma-action]
[He tosses a curious look Charlie's way, confused as to why spending time in the library is an unfortunate thing. Reading is a way to learn, after all, isn't it? Nothing about that seems bad to him. Then again, he's not ever actually been inside a library before, so for all he knows, perhaps they're unpleasant in some way.
Regardless, she gains his attention yet more with that question about the woods though, and he finds himself wondering what it is that he might have been told about it. Shaking his head in answer, Samandriel glances toward the treeline, then back to Charlie.]
No, I've not been told anything about it. [A fleck of worry is then added to his voice.] Should I have? Is there something...odd about it?
Re: [perma-action]
[She just doesn't really know how to socialize. She pushes herself to when she doesn't feel overwhelmed.]
Apparently, the woods start out okay and then get problematic the further in you go. Other than your typical forest wildlife, there's mechanical bears and other mechanical creatures. Turrets farther in and if you make it past those, tranquilizers.
So I've heard, anyway. That's not something I feel like discovering first hand just yet.
no subject
[He's not certain what to say to that, as socializing isn't really something he's done terribly much of either, outside of his family, though it's never been because he spends more time reading. But hey, at least she's socializing now?
...The news about the woods is rather disconcerting, however, and has him looking over at Charlie in shock. It's...not really what he was expecting, but is it something anyone would expect to hear of a forest?]
...I can't say I blame you. I suppose this is to keep anyone from wandering too far away from the town and escaping? It's rather horrid to hear, at the very least. Have there...been any encounters? Have any of the others being held captive here dealt with these firsthand?
