What you're proud of is what you stand for -- what you're proud of is who you are. What you consider an accomplishment, a defining factor, what you consider important about who you are. That is how you portray yourself.

Someone who is proud of that, regardless of difficulty or achievement (or lack thereof) is someone who continues along that path and continues to allow that way of thinking rule them.

Ergo, a supervillain by any other name should smell as sweet?

You aren't listening to what I'm saying because that's not what I said at all. It isn't what you've done but how you wear your past and what you make of it.

I know plenty of demons who have done plenty of heinous shit -- even dated one for a while -- and beyond that, I personally walk a path that delves more into the darker grey areas. There is no black and there is no white, not really.

It's all in what you pride yourself on. And from what you've said, your pride resides in the torture and killing, not in your sacrifice.
