[ The video shows a very large, very blue eye blinking directly into it. Almost as soon as it appears, the camera pans out to show Julian's face, and then it seems to hover directly in front of him. His shoulders are down but the camera is directly in front, held by his telekinesis which also happens to be holding the gauntlet it's attached to. Julian walks along like this is completely normal. Once it reaches what he thinks is a reasonable distance, the Town Center with its fountain can be seen behind him.

His expression is a sardonic smirk, and his voice is a drawl. He doesn't sound panicked. ]

So, Cape Kore. My 'new home'. That's cute. What is this, like Survivor for mutants? I see the cameras. You guys aren't subtle, whoever you are.

[ The camera comes closer again, and something bright and metal taps the face of his watch. ]

Who's even on the other side of this thing? I'm fucking talking to myself, aren't I. What a joke...

[ He rolls his eyes, and for a moment looks like he's about to turn this off. Then he appears to think better of it. His face hardens, and his lips compress into a line. ]

Whatever. This is Hellion, I'm with the X-Men. If anyone's out there, sound off. I need to get off this ride, and one of you is gonna tell me how, right now, or I'm going to take every one of those little cameras and grind them to dust.

Zatanna Zatara. I lead the Sentinels of Magic and I belong to the Justice League. [As pretentious as "Justice League" is, it just harkens way back to the All-Star Squadron and Justice Society of the early 1900s. Avengers sounds a little focused on an aspect she isn't necessarily comfortable with. Well, some of the time, anyway.]

[ Yeah, Julian's not particularly comfortable with the Avengers either. 'Justice League' is an interesting name, though. ]

I've never heard of them.

Magic's a different story. [ No disbelief; just acceptance. He's seen his fair share of magic, both good and bad. ] Is Zatanna, like, a code name?

It's my given name. From birth.

[ So maybe not like the Avengers.

He shrugs. ]

Okay. You know the last time I met a master sorceress, she was kind of crazier than you. You don't have anything to do with Limbo, right?

I only know one that's crazy and that's only part of the time. [Why does it sound like she likes this sometimes-crazy person... uh.] I've been there, but I don't have anything to do with it. I did help part of it usurp Hell so it would be more... lenient -- which I know is subjective -- but, ah. Basically: no.

[This is the most she's spoken of herself during her entire stay.]

[ Well, at least that probably means she won't turn out to be a half demon or something. ]

Okay. That's good to know.

So, I guess there's no point in asking if the woman whose magic made Hell a nicer place if she could get us out of here? Because the, uh, the sorceress I know? She's a hell of a teleporter. She got me out of Limbo before.

I'm afraid in my universe almost no one can do that sort of thing without some extra effort and I haven't been able to escape yet, so there's your answer. [Your really unfortunate answer.]

Yeah, I figured. Hell, it was worth asking. Though I'd love to know what kind of power is keeping us here if even magic can't break through it. That'd be power worth having.
