01 - [video] - day 85
[She isn't on Yamatai anymore. She knows that in her bones and it doesn't sit right at all.]
-- I can't be the only one.
[ - is what comes onto the communicator first; panicked and absolutely worn from her trials. After that a young woman caked in dirt and blood can be seen peering at the device on her wrist.]
Some sort of monitoring system? ...what is this place?
[She examines it for a few more seconds before realizing she's broadcasting - instantly her face lights up with unmistakable hope...but it's quickly squashed in place of distrust.]
Whoever is listening to this - I need to go back. If my friends aren't here I have to go back. They're in danger, they could be dead already. [Maybe I'm dead.] Or worse.
Please...Sam, if you're hearing this - God - please let me know. I'll find you.
[She can dream that everyone was....brought here like she knows she was. She sighs with exhaustion and her voice breaks on a heavier emotion.]
I have to help them.
[Nevermind that she needs to have medical attention a.s.a.p]

[Helpful? No, not really, but (surprisingly enough) it's more helpful than he usually gets.]
Also, fire exits are located in the sea, if the snow's yellow don't eat it, and never take candy from strangers. Think that covers everything from the FAQ - if you've got any more questions, comments or general screams of frustration, keep 'em to yourself, there's a good newbie.

Are you insane?

[At least she still has the faculties to be sarcastic.]

[She had other people to do that for her. She doesn't really remember much of his spiel from a few moments ago but she does remember him mentioning a Sam.]
And I don't know any Winchesters. The Sam I'm looking for is a young woman, about my height with short black hair. [Here's hoping --] Have you seen her?
no subject
[He deliberates over that for much longer than he actually needs to. There's no real hurry as far as he's concerned, and he does so enjoy being a pain in the ass.]
..nah.

[Shiala smiles gently, but she has no good news, either. Of greater concern is the blood -- red doesn't look like blood to her, really, but she intellectually knows that human blood is red, and she's seen enough of it, unfortunately.]
Do you need to see a doctor? [She frowns, honestly concerned.]
no subject
But still....it's someone speaking to her sanely. Lara will try to work with them.]
How did I even get here? I don't have any...placement of time of being transported or...or anything.
[Yes she really does need to see a doctor.]
no subject
[She doesn't offer theories, because it's all a little out of her experience. She won't try to approach that. What she is a little better with is being calm in a crisis.]
Maybe I would be able to help you. My name is Shiala. If you can tell me where you are, I can help you find the clinic, and we can clean you up.
no subject
Shiala?
I -- [she swallows, decides to put herself out there. It's what she would do if things were normal.] I'm Lara.
no subject
[Okay, a name. That's good. That's progress.]
I believe you are bleeding. Can you tell if it's very serious?
no subject
It's...been open for a few days now. I've tried to keep it clean but...
[There's only so much she could do on that island.]
I don't know how good a job I did...I -- I'm on my way to the clinic now.
[Other people have been good enough to direct the paranoid woman.]
no subject
Be careful. Let me know if I can help.
[audio]
Meanwhile, you do look a bit of a mess. Are you hurt?
[audio]
[crazy.]
strange.
[She was dealing with ancient dead queens that could control the weather and giant demons that ate people...time stopping won't be that hard of a concept to grasp eventually.]
I - I don't believe you. [There's little conviction in it.]
[audio]
But it's all a moot point anyway.
You don't have to believe me, either, but if you do want assistance, you may as well say so now. I can help.
[audio]
Lara has had a rough introduction to the supernatural so it's not...impossible to her? It's just railing against her sense of reality as she used to know it - flimsy as it may be.]
How?
[Who has trust issues?]
[audio]
Well, I could come to you and help you find a place to rest, for starters. I'm not a doctor, but I've done some triage. [...And yet, he's aware that 'oh, I'm an angel!' might not go over well.]
[audio]
And yes she really will be one of those difficult ones.
Lara can't help the dry, slightly manic laugh that falls. It's not funny at all she's just...scared.]
I'm sorry, but I don't think that's such a good idea to tell you where I am.
How about quid pro quo? You tell me where you are.
[audio]
You may need to get over that distrust, but all right. At the moment, I'm next to House 11, in the garden, but there are better landmarks. If you can find the clinic or the bar, either is a decent shelter. [Of course, if she can make her own way to help, she hardly needs him, but he'll keep vigilant, just in case.]
[audio]
Thank you.
[There's a jostle of movement on her end, she's heading for the clinic. Needs to have her stomach looked at asap.]
What's your name?
[audio]
I'm Balthazar. Charmed to meet you. Welcome to Kore, but I suppose your communicator told you that already.
video
I'd like to help however I can, but that's probably not going to be much at all. You want to swing by the clinic?
video
How do I know you're not lying to me, doctor?
[It's wry, she's still got some kind of sense of humor that is probably only present because she's speaking to the man at a distance. Communicators are good like that.]
no subject
I got my MD as part of a graduate school torture session while I was mainly getting my PhD in physics, so I'm a scientist first, doctor second, but this place hasn't really required me to split up atoms very often.
no subject
What's your name and where's this clinic?
[Okay maybe not that much. She's much less...twitchy as she breaths in and out in a very controlled fashion. Just reminding herself that she's armed, and she can take care of herself if she's expecting trouble.]
no subject
no subject
It's just...all coming to a head now. The adrenaline, the fear, the panic all having collected after about a week. It's leaving her drained.]
I can manage. Just need to keep going.
[Even though she looks like she's on her last leg at this point.]
no subject
You need to get to the clinic. Where are you? [ She may actually help, or get her someone to get there quicker ]
no subject
[There's a lot of conviction behind that. She believes she can but her body won't let her do much. She needs rest.]
I...I'm near a lighthouse?
no subject
What's your name?
no subject
[She was taught that if you were ever stranded remotely due to an accident to remain as close to the wreckage as possible. She wished that could have worked out better for her before. Nevertheless, Lara will be trying to find a place to conceal herself - now that she's told someone where she is she thinks it to be in her best interest to be cautious.]
I'm -- [not sure I should tell you.]
Lara. My name's Lara.

[ At least the girl is talking, it's more than Lydia wanted to when she'd arrived ]
Where were you, before? You said your friends were in danger.
sorry about the wait!
[She scoffs, listening to herself it sounds so much like a horror survival film cliche.]
We found...countless wrecks of ships, it was like they were being collected by the island. And there were...there were survivors on the island. Horrible, horrible men who had gone absolutely mad thinking that somehow killing Sam would help them escape the island.
There were a few of us who managed to survive our own ship getting chewed up by the storms. Sam was one of them.
[Now she doesn't know.]
Sorry I...I didn't mean to unload on you like that.
no subject
They're not here. Maybe your friend is? [ Lydia hasn't heard of any Sam's but they could be anywhere ]
no subject
[She's gone from uptight and panicked to just...just tired. Adrenaline is exhausting.]
I guess...I guess here is better than there, right?
[Please say yes.]
