005 ✳ day 86 ✳ video

[Fortescue doesn't look as tired as she should be, but, then again, she's used to not getting much sleep. Comes practically in her job description. She's perched on the end of her bed — Jazz in her lap and regarding the device with a small amount of interest. And though she's wearing a bath robe and warmly covered, jury's out on whether she's wearing anything else.]

Are you tired, Cape? Because you've been running through my dreams all night.

[She allows herself a tiny, tiny smirk for that one.]

No, but... really. I adore you all, but a lady needs some private time once in a while.

Better than running and hiding. I've always said I'd rather die fighting.

Only worth it as a potential option if it leaves you to fight another day, I think. Living on the lam and in constant fear's no way to live.

But I'm taking this all too seriously. Maybe I just need a drink.

Perhaps you'll sleep more soundly if you go with one now.

Mrm, I'm used to my dreams being invaded, but I usually set up mental blocks. It hasn't been working so well.

If you're a guy that likes being a jerk, yeah. Supervillains do all sorts of asinine things.

[Although most don't bother with her. She can kick the most powerful telepath in the multiverse out of her mind, after all. It's better to try to sneak up on her when she's sleeping than invade her dreams. Maybe...]

Mmm. I haven't seen anything this large scale for ages, usually more in the style of a mass illusion -- not often the kind that stops in between and lets you gather your bearings. And there's usually a reason that's made obvious at some point. [She sounds particularly nervous now.] I don't like this.
