Hello. [ Elizabeth's face comes on the screen rather hesitantly, and she waves with her free hand, still unsure on how the specifics of this whole communicator business. She's figured out how it works, but she's still unsure if she's doing it right. Fortunately, she has it on the video setting like she'd wanted. ] I hate to do this, but has anybody seen a tall man with short brown hair and green eyes that goes by Booker anywhere around in the cape? I've been searching all morning, but I can't seem to find him. If anybody had some sort of idea where he may be, would you let me know? Or at the very least, tell him that Elizabeth is looking for him.

I can't imagine he's gone far, it isn't as if this is a very large town. [ Sigh. She tucks her hair back behind her ear. ] Thank you.

Oh! And - I hope that everyone is doing well. These dreams have been... well, exciting. I suspect there's been a lot of sleepless nights all around.

Well... [ She hedges. ] I haven't seen him for two days, but he can't be gone. He wouldn't have left without me, I'm sure of it.

[Two days? With that asshole running around? The one that keeps grabbing her--] Fuck's sake, Elizabeth! The hell didn't you say somethin' sooner, huh?

[Wouldn't have left without her... more like didn't get out alive. Oh, Ellie.]

'M comin' over. Stay put. [And don't bother trying to argue because he doesn't want to hear it. He'll be over soon enough. It's not that far. Knock knock, Princess, open up.]

Around two days. He usually checks in if he'll be out for a long time, it's the only reason I ask.

[ Ah, damn. This sounds familiar. Galen bites at his lip. ] You can't get hold of him at all? 'Cuz... that's usually not great news.

[ Frown. ] I'll manage. But thank you. You're very sure? [ River seems to just know things, by what Elizabeth's seen, and she trusts that judgement. ]

[Fortescue frowns slightly. More going missing...]

When did you last see him?

Thank you, Miss Fortescue, every bit helps. [ She has the sneaking suspicion that they're not going to find him, but she's trying to remain somewhat optimistic. ] The last I saw of him was at our house that we'd claimed. He left to go retrieve something and never... never came back.

People seem to disappear a lot around here. But sometimes they do come back.

[First Ruby, now Booker. It's starting again.]

I wish I had some better news for you. Unfortunately, I do not.

[Shiala offers a small, sympathetic little smile. The girl just seems so young to her.]

Is there something else I could help you with, maybe? I admit I'm new here, myself, and I'm not sure what is normal.

[ Whoah. Elizabeth blinks once or twice, and she doesn't quite mean to, but it escapes anyway: ] You're green! [ She's... never seen a green person before. ]

[And she's only a little self-conscious about it.]

I realise it's an unusual skin pigment for an asari, but it was an unexpected side effect of some peculiar circumstances.

[Robert is using his Not Pleased voice. Though it's not meant for her. It's meant for DeWitt. If he comes traipsing back after worrying Elizabeth...

Well, that would be better than if he doesn't.

But Robert won't voice that possibility.]

I'm sure he's simply run into trouble of some sort.

[ The familiar face makes her smile, at least, and she runs her fingers through her hair with her free hand absently as she replies. It's a little bit of a sad smile, but she tries. ]

He's been missing for two days now. I'm sure he's alright, he's a very - capable man, but I had wondered. You haven't seen him either, Mr. Lutece?

I'm sure he'll be back soon. [He damn well better be. Or a certain Lutece is going to be very angry at him.

More than he already is.

Leaving Elizabeth alone? Not telling anyone? If DeWitt's disappointed him again...]

He's gone missing, hasn't he.

[ It's not a question; Ned knows what it means when people go missing around here. Either Booker will show up again, or he won't, but chances are if Elizabeth hasn't seen him for a while, that he's gone. That's almost worse than showing up alone: showing up with someone, only to have them vanish and leave you stranded, alone and confused ]

[ By this point, she's mostly accepted that he's gone. There are good people here, and it's not as if she's unused to being alone or having a multitude of universes at her disposal. And of course, she still has Robert as a link to her world. But that doesn't change the fact that she's going to miss Booker quite a bit. ]

It seems like he's left for good. I sort of thought as much, but I thought I'd try one last thing.
