[Dilandau's lying on the sofa in his living room, holding his arm above his head to film. He's forgone his usual armour-and-diadem getup for a red shirt from the wardrobe. The swelling on his face has gone down, but the bruising has faded into an unattractive yellow]

Kenzi, I've finished that trap. Come to 15 and I'll show you how to set it up. I'll make another once we're sure it works.

[To everyone else, the message seems to end for a moment as he makes a message Private to Maggie]

Maggie, I want to see you later too. I've got questions about those dreams of yours.

[To everyone else, the message appears to start up again as he switches back to a public message.

His expression sours and he pushes his hair off of his forehead, huffing. He's obviously irritated at having to ask something that he feels beneath him]

Is there anything useful to do that doesn't involve heavy labour? I'll even take recommendations for books that won't bore me to sleep if there's nothing to be done. Or Mina, have you found any herbs that'll speed up bone healing since we've spoken?

[He very much doubts that the answer will be 'Yes', but it never hurts to ask.]

Like I'd touch any of the demons around here. When I decide on the ending, she's going to be no one less than the conquered and willing Queen of Asturia.

I don't know, I hear Meg's pretty fun in the thighs department. The demons do tend to be, once you get 'em to swap out homicidal sadomasochism and violence for the fun kind. Not Queen of anywhere as far as I know, but I wouldn't put murdering her way into a monarchy past her.

Well, partly 'cause I kinda want to watch her kick the crap out of you when you try it. Partly because her current choice of company is even worse than if she picked you. I'd say the split's about 70-30, but... eh. I'm flexible on that.

No, I mean she admits what she is - or at least I admit what she is. I think she's the only demon left here. Good riddance, if you ask me - they've got their priorities all wrong. Too much mindless carnage. They oughtta take the time to enjoy it, not just go around killing everyone willy-nilly. But hey, to each his own.

I mean a soul twisted through horrific torture into a sadistic black-eyed cloud of smoke that possesses human bodies and uses them to wreak havoc and mayhem on the world of the living. Alternatively, Furbies. Why? What do you mean?

It's justified caution. Demons aren't part of Gaia, so their powers aren't balanced with the world. They spread bad luck or chaos where they go because of it.

With what goes on in this place, there's got to be a few demons throwing everything out.

Yeah? Maybe you aren't balanced with this place, didja think of that? You're chaotic enough - and it'd explain your attitude. Constantly disturbing the equilibrium must be terrible for the digestive system, and that can make a guy awful grumpy.

[No, he hadn't thought of that one! But he dismisses the thought a second later]

If I was the demon here I'd be one of the ones here with the mighty powers. I'm still just human.

I should hope so! Giving the pyromaniac with anger management issues magic powers? Proooobably violates the health and safety code of whoever's brought us here.

[He shrugs.]

But if it was a demon world, wouldn't not having phenomenal cosmic powers be the unbalancing thing? I'm sure we can still blame this on you one way or another.

Says the creature who spends most of the time he's flapping his mouth trying to spread confusion. You're not going to be able blame me to anyone who's had a conversation with you already.

You-! [He cuts himself off and takes a deep breath before he inadvertently ends up challenging Loki to a duel to the death again. The effort makes his eyes bulge slightly]

It's time for me to start showing my better sense.
