[ At first, the video shows only flashes of Castiel's face looking particularly annoyed. He's clearly walking and looking for something and it isn't clear if he's even aware that the video is on or if he intended for this to be audio-only. ]

If you see a small saber-toothed cat, do not approach her. She appears to be... agitated.

[ He pauses. ]

There you are.

[ He starts to move more swiftly and there's a brief flash of his other arm, or what's left of it. Most of his forearm is missing from his right arm and he's done nothing to cover it yet.

There's a loud growl and then the feed cuts out. ]

Which is why he's staring at this, disbelieving. ]

[ It takes Castiel a moment to answer and this time he manages to keep it to audio. ]

I apologize for that. It's difficult to press the buttons on this with my teeth.

[ He sighs. ]

I'm fine and she--the creature is dead.

[ He smiles a little sadly. ]

[A hissed in pained sound and she's grabbing her gun and the medical kit as she leaves the bar.]

Dammit, Cas. Where the hell are you? Or your brothers?

[ He tilts his arm to show the prone form of Bernice, now quite a bit bigger than she'd been when he'd first found her. ]

[As someone who's recently been attacked by a very similar animal, he feels somehow compelled to respond to this, although he's not sure there's much he can do to help.]

I don't advise pursuing the animal any further.

That's not true. The ones who know I'll be fine were the most panicked.

[ He makes some effort not to roll his eyes, but doesn't quite hit the mark. Still, there's something fond under that. ]

I apologize for scaring anyone. That wasn't intended to include video footage. I'm fine now that I know the creature can't hurt anyone more fragile than myself.

I don't... think a hug is required.

[ Oh man. Meg should've seen this coming. Apparently while nerd angels of the Lord can tame wild demons, they can't tame wild sabre tooths. It makes her chest ache in ways she's not sure she wants to analyse. Maybe because she knows just how attached to the dumb creature, or maybe because half his freaking arm is missing. ]

You gonna be okay, Clarence? [ Not just the arm but the emotional scarring of having to slay his pet too... ]

I'm alright, Meg. It will be slower than I'm used to, but I'm healing.

I don't know what happened with Bernice. She's been snappy lately, but nothing like this.

[ First he'll have to stop doing stupid things. It's challenging. ]

I'm fine. It's fine. She's... not fine, but I am and no one else was attacked.

[ He really doesn't have much fight left in him right now and he knows what he did wrong. He shouldn't have tried to domesticate her in the first place. She never would have survived alone and he should have given her a quick and merciful death in the first place. ]

[ He purses his lips. ]

When we first arrived, the town was overrun with the cats. I killed her mother and several others, but I kept her. She's been living in one of the sheds. She's never been violent before, though.

[It's startling to catch sight of the missing arm, but he's seen worse and knows that Cas will heal. ...Not that any of this stops him from growing concerned, even if he does remain calm about it.]

Are you alright? ...Is your cat alright?

[That was definitely not what she'd expected to see when the feed flickered on. Jo squares her shoulders, tense as she grits her teeth. She won't bother asking if he's alright. The answer is obvious.]

Where are you?! Do you need help?

[Angels normally don't need much in the way of first aid, but she doesn't know Cas yet -- and as far as she knows, he's different from the others. She's not exactly sure how, but it can't hurt to offer to come to his aid. It never hurts.]
