Third Drink | Video | Day 97
[Ellen doesn't look real happy. She's not, but normally she's a bit better at hiding it.]
New batch is out of the still but it's weaker than the last one. If anyone wants a bottle, stop by and pick it up.
[She sips water out of a glass. She's got other things to say.]
We're going to need things to run through the still. Rice, oats, cornmeal, frozen fruit, anything that can be run through the still.
If you find anything in the forest, dandelions can be used to make wine, too.
[She almost turns it off, but stops for a second.]
Also, got a haunch of venison, if anyone's willin' to trade for it.

[ He trails off and then does give her a look, though it's less angry than it is more... just... Dean gets it. He really, seriously does get it, and he can't even blame Ellen for wanting to get revenge. It would just make his life so much easier if they all stopped antagonizing each other. ]
And hey, you. [ He looks sharply at Meg. ] You don't lay a hand on her, or anyone, got it?
[ He sighs and looks away, needing to get his thoughts together. ]
Do I need to draw a line down the middle of the town, huh? This is your side, that's yours? I get this is a powder keg kind of situation here, but let's not start throwing matches, alright?

[Ellen turns around to look at him. Her eyes are hard, and the only reason she doesn't have a gun trained on that fucking bitch and isn't reciting a damned exorcism is because of Dean. But boy does she itch to do it.]
Get out of my bar.
[She settles onto a stool again, and starts mending the pocket again. It's something to keep her hands steady, so she doesn't start telling that boy what for.
A piece of her heart breaks because the order wasn't just for the demon. But she can't watch Dean coddle a demon. Not any more. It hurts too much and feels like he just forgot about everything that had happened.]

No line needed, as long as she keeps away from me.
[ She's been on her best behaviour so far. But that can change... ]

None of that stops Dean from blaming himself, especially after Jo's ghost came back, and he was found guilty of... Yeah. Meg had a hand in it, but Dean carries that weight all on his own shoulders. The way Ellen and Jo treat Meg -- he gets it, he would too in their position, but he never stops feeling like all that hate should be directed at him.
Now he guesses it is.
He doesn't even have anything to say. There's nothing to say. He swallows it all down, closes off his own eyes, and walks Meg out of there. ]
