[Ellen doesn't look real happy. She's not, but normally she's a bit better at hiding it.]

New batch is out of the still but it's weaker than the last one. If anyone wants a bottle, stop by and pick it up.

[She sips water out of a glass. She's got other things to say.]

We're going to need things to run through the still. Rice, oats, cornmeal, frozen fruit, anything that can be run through the still.

If you find anything in the forest, dandelions can be used to make wine, too.

[She almost turns it off, but stops for a second.]

Also, got a haunch of venison, if anyone's willin' to trade for it.

Already got someone on it. That and dandelions for wine. What we need is fruit.

I can keep an eye out for fruit. That might be harder to come by. How many bottles did you make?

Still got three or four from the last batch; managed another eight this time. Next time will be less. I refuse to water down the booze that much.

There's a limit to how much watering down it can take before it becomes completely useless. Mind if I pick up a bottle?

[Ellen is cleaning up from dinner, and redoing bottles. If she mixes the two batches together, it's a better mix. She's standing at the bar, ignoring the soaking dishes, funneling alcohol from two bottles into a single one. She glances up at the tinkle of the bell over the door.]

Howdy, come on in.

[He gives her a slight smile as he comes in, looking more tired than anything, but still friendly.]

I hope you know you're doing an important public service here, by making this liquor.

[She chuckles, capping a bottle and putting it to the side.]

It's something I know how to do. My uncle ran one forever, when I was a kid.

I know some people back home who do, too. Of course, where I'm from, it's not exactly legal.

[He doesn't know what may or may not be legal in the future, but he's pretty sure everyone here is from further in the future than he is.]

Prohibition got passed a few years back. I've been assured by the people here that they eventually get rid of it.

[She caps the bottle and puts it in front of him.]

[He picks up the bottle and looks at it appreciatively. This is very much needed, for many reasons.]
