[ Today Mr. Eames is wearing an ill-fitting shirt that opens wide at the collar and exposes the black swirl of ink against his chest. His free hand is wrapped tightly around a cup of hot water, the steam rising to play against the edges of the feed. ]

All right, desperate times and all. I was going to save these - [ Flicking his fingers as though pushing through water and lifting the battered pack of cigarettes up from the table into view. ] - until I found a person with coffee. Or Earl Grey. Now I'm thinking my efforts would be better spent gathering a little more information. [ Willingly or unwillingly, he has a plan. ] I've been watching you lot and I can only surmise we all have our own specialist fields. Whether it be that you're a doctor or you spend your weekends fighting dragons, we've all got something that defines us. And right now I'm looking for someone who's interests lie in a labratory. Any of you charming people happen to be a chemist? [ A bright smile that shows off his crooked teeth and makes his expression darker. ] I need someone. I need someone to have a little chat with, it won't take long. And I'm very good company.

[ His plan is as follows. Bribe, barter, steal his way into possession of enough chemicals to make somnacin. Find someone to build a PASIV. Figure out if he's dreaming. But the vague of criminal undertone doesn't have to be said. Eames' pose is loose and welcoming but there's something about the way the fabric pulls taught against his muscles that promise he is capable of great violence. But that brings him to his next point. ] And anyone who's any good at cobbling together these retro bits of machinery. I know I certainly have a soft spot for the eighties but we've made a good way in the world and I miss my sodding iPad.

I understand chemistry.

[ Not that he's a chemist, but he understands science in a way most humans never will. ]

And I don't require payment for information.

[ A pause. ]

What's an iPad?

[ For a moment he wants to say no, that someone who doesn't know what an iPad is cannot help him. But he remembers Castiel and remembers that he isn't human and that he saw him in a dream and so he smiles. ]

No? You need to get a better sense of economics, love. The things people will do for a cigarette.

No one I care about has any use for a cigarette. What do you need help with?

[ He thinks perhaps he's seen Meyer with a cigarette, but he doesn't think they're exactly friends yet, so bartering for him seems strange. ]

I need to make a compound. [ He smiles and it's easy instead of sharp, almost welcoming. ] It's something I was working on back home. Harmless really.

[ He never worked on it and it isn't really harmless when paired with the PASIV but Castiel doesn't need to know that. ]

I can try. Do you have the specifics of what we'll need? I may be able to fabricate what we can't procure.

I do, but I'd rather not speak about it over these things. [ Tapping his communicator. ]

I'm not all that fond of Big Brother.

[ Castiel has at least become aware enough of the way people speak to know that there's a reference in there that he's missing. He files that away to ask someone about later. ]

I can meet you somewhere.

Is there anywhere here that isn't ramshackle and terrifying?

I think that depends on what you fear.

[ A pause. ]

The park is peaceful when it's not full of killer animals.

And is it likely to be hosting a sinister menagerie today?

I don't believe so, but if there is, I won't allow you to come to harm.

All right, the park. Would you be free now?

I'll be there in a moment.

[ He turns the feed off and true to his word is already in the gazebo whenever Eames makes his way there. ]

[ Eames ambles up, his hands in his pockets. When he sees Castiel he offers his hand. ]

Nice to see you're not just a figment of my imagination.

Not unless you're God.

[ He delivers this with a completely straight face. ]

What do you need help creating?

[ There's a fear in the back of his head that he'll help the wrong person again and give them a terrible weapon and it's far more about his guilt than anything he's seen in Eames. ]

Well, some people do worship me.

[ He weighs up his options. From all he's seen in the cape, there's very little that would make what he does obvious. So he simply smiles. ] A machine. You could call it a sleeping aid.

Then you're a false idol.

[ It's an almost absent comment. ]

If you need to sleep, I can put you to sleep.

[ Eyebrows lifting. ]

I'd much rather do it the way I'm used to. Doctor's orders.

I think I trump a doctor.

[ At least any human doctor. ]

What do you need me to do?

Bit full of yourself aren't you, duck?

[ A thoughtful pause. ] Firstly, why are you offering to help? I'm a bit short on cash and perishable goods.

I'm an angel, not a duck.

[ That should answer at least a few of those questions. ]

An angel.

[ If it comes across as a little flat, well. ] You still have wings then.

I have wings, but showing them to you might risk your eyes melting in your skull.

[ His delivery is candid, matter-of-fact. ]

Well, I certainly wouldn't want that.

Neither would I.

[ So with the potentially false assumption that Eames believes him, because why wouldn't he... ]

So as you can see, I can help you with whatever it is you're trying to do.

What would an angel know about chemistry?

Chemistry is part of how the world works. I understand that better than any human can. I can see it at work.

[ And there is a hint of pride slipping in there. ]

[ With an assessing look.

Isn't that little hint of arrogance what got you lot in trouble in the first place?

You sound as if you're trying to build something, Mr. Eames.

[If she sounds interested, it's because she is.]

Do I? [ Ah, well interest always intrigues him, so. ] Well, it does get a little dull around here, can anyone blame me?

No, I was just curious as to what you think you're going to be able to do with chemicals and old machine bits...

[Ignore that paranoia Lara.]

Curiosity killed the cat. [ But he grins again. ] Thankfully the feline bloke already left so you should be fine.

[ A pause. ] I just want to replicate a little something from home, is all.

[She matches his grin poorly but does her best to look amused.]

Good timing for me then.

If you don't mind me asking...what exactly? I'd like to help if I could.

It's something of a sleep aid, though not one I think is avaliable in most people's worlds.
