video; Day 101
[Hello, sweet cape dwellers. Did you miss this particularly obnoxious curly Italian gangster? No? Too bad, because here he is far too close to your screen, clutching his head like he has the hangover of a century. The footage is spotty, the audio coming in and out and the video often out of focus, but what's abundantly clear is that Charlie's back, and not entirely pleased about it.]
Fuckin-
Jesus, what the fucking hell is this-
will someone get me-
[At last the video clears enough to show Charlie, looking angry but unharmed, somewhere on the waterfront.]
Someone tell me what the -
going on?

[At last the video clears enough to show Charlie, looking angry but unharmed, somewhere on the waterfront.]
Someone tell me what the -
going on?

[He's about to finish with 'while I was gone' but... that feels a little too much like admitting he WAS gone, and he's not sure he's quite ready to go there yet.]

[There're two or three liquor bottles lying on the bedroom floor that could probably answer that question far more honestly than he could, but he just shrugs.]
It was something to do. A productive distraction.

[But Meyer is smiling at last and that makes him smile and throw an arm around his shoulder again, shaking him a little.]

[The teasing tone in his voice is probably only slightly disguising the fact that he's definitely leaning into Charlie as soon as Charlie puts his arm around him. He still feels hungover, and the surge of relief that had come when he'd realized Charlie was back has left him feeling almost exhausted.]

For now, he's content to just let his mind be as blank as possible, to concentrate on the reality that Charlie's back. He practically topples over the armrest, laughing against Charlie's mouth as he does so.]

He eases them down, crawling over Meyer until he's stretched out over him on the couch, familiar and beautiful.]

He doesn't speak, as much as he wants to, only tosses the shirt over the side of the couch and goes back to kissing Meyer. He normally likes that they can talk when they're like this, breathless comments and directions and jabs between kisses. But today's not a normal day, and he's not sure what the etiquette is.]

He's still not used to the fact that they're dressed in these ridiculous modern clothes; it makes him feel almost naked. He'd taken for granted how protected his many layers had made him feel back home, but in this ridiculous t-shirt, there's only one layer between his skin and Charlie's skin. Something about that feels good, but something about it feels strangely vulnerable, too. There're about a million things he wants to say, but every time he pauses to say something, he thinks better of it.]

You're thinking again, Meyer, and it's fucking killing me. Come out, outs with it already.
no subject
It's not like I can turn off my brain.
[Though it would be so convenient if he could.]
I don't like not having any idea what's going to happen. I don't like knowing you could disappear again.
no subject
[He tugs on the neckline of Meyer's shirt, pressing a slow kiss onto his collar bone.]
no subject
I'm not content not knowing. I don't even know where you were. You don't know where you were. Doesn't that bother you?
no subject
You think it don't? I let myself think about its too long I'm gonna fucking punch something.
no subject
Okay. We won't think about it.
no subject
[Look, he's compromising. He's also tugging up Meyer's shirt so he can kiss him just under his navel.]
no subject
[Scheduled worrying time. He can get behind that. He can also laugh quietly when Charlie kisses his stomach -- it's always been one of his more sensitive spots, and he's generally not fond of having it exposed, but this is Charlie, and Charlie gets away with just about anything.]
no subject
Any food showed up while I were gone?
no subject
Just the bread Ned and I made. Oh, and there's about half a bottle of liquor.
no subject
Someone's been holding out booze on us?
