I know that this sounds odd. [ And isn't really a question that people generally ask. Also what isn't odd, around here? It's her justification ] But with what's been happening I'd like to know.

[ There's a pause. It's a touchy subject, obviously, and she's not even sure where the conversations might go ]

I want to know about your experience with death. [ She's going to try and go slow on this. As slow as Lydia Martin wanting to know something can. But things are pretty messed up. She feels pretty messed up. And she'll even tell her reasons for asking if she's asked ]

Not just if you know someone has died but... if you've seen it. [ A two second pause ] Or nearly died.

It's happened here, and could have happened a lot more. [ If Dirk hadn't put out that useful message. People were still taken but at least they were warned ]

But- Can people come back? [ It might sound crazy, but it's happened before. It happened to Jackson - twice, although that was a supernatural thing. But it leaves the possibility, right? ]

I'm going to the library. Hopefully it's as useful as it should be.

Even here. I know of several who are here who are dead where they come from.

[ ...Pretty much everyone from his world, he's learning. ]

Anything is possible. That is the great uncertainty to life.

[ It's gentle, even a touch warm, his face slightly soft. ]

Nor do they in mine. Death gets a bit testy with us when it happens.
servingmichael: (Fine. I will explain again)

He is. You've heard of 'The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse' ? Death is one of them, the embodiment of death, if you will. He and my Father are about the same age. They don't even remember who came first now.

Yes, though he dislikes doing so. He's not the only one who can bring people back, but that tends to lead to lectures.

We can. Some high level demons, though that mostly requires possessing Reapers for them to do it. There are a few spells that can allow a human to leash a Reaper or even Death, but they will kill the human over it. Anything else isn't bringing back the person, but a monster, no matter how they look like it.

Quite rarely. Unless you mean demon deals - in which case...how often do you hear of people who recovered, for no reason, after all hope was gone? If you check, they or someone close to them probably died ten years later. It's more common than most realize.

Really? In your world, you don't hear of 'miraculous' recoveries? Strange.

[ Truly strange. ]
