[It's been a week since Anita's arrival in the Cape, and all that time, she's managed to monitor the network without actually making herself known, taking the opportunity the blackout and the defunct network had provided her to move around town unnoticed and get the lay of the land. By now, she's more or less settled -- she has housemates she gets along with reasonably well, one of them a stray Allison brought home after no less than two days after their arrival. She has a potential ally in a man she's still not entirely convinced isn't a yeti, and a woman who practically reeks of magic but without that undertone of malice.

All things considered, there's something of a silver lining to this new situation, though she certainly has plenty of choice words for their captors if she ever gets the chance. She's determined to make that opportunity arise sooner or later.

When she addresses the feed, she's sitting on the front steps of House 10, arms resting on her knees.]

I haven't been here long, but I think I've got most of the details by now. [People had been helpful, for the most part.] The food supply is low and it sounds like people are doing whatever they can to help supplement it. I hear people hunt. I'd like to get in on that, but it would help to know what's available to us in the way of weapons.

[She has her knives, and her guns with their limited ammo, but she's never been much of a trapper despite being vaguely outdoorsy. She'd done a lot of field work during college that had required her to spend time out in the woods and knew well enough how to forage, but hunting anything that wasn't, you know, monstrous was entirely new. Animals couldn't be all that different, could they? Just... smaller. Potentially less vicious.

Right.]

Do we have the resources to replace or even forge spent ammunition, for instance? Or do we get to play pioneer and do it the authentic way?

[You know. Bows and arrows. That kind of thing.]

Any kind of feedback would be appreciated. If I'm going to be stuck here, might as well pitch in and do what I can to help.

[The feed ends. She'll be sitting outside of House 10 for awhile if anyone comes by or wants to pester her, and later in the day, she can be found at the docks, doing a little investigating.]

I know that this sounds odd. [ And isn't really a question that people generally ask. Also what isn't odd, around here? It's her justification ] But with what's been happening I'd like to know.

[ There's a pause. It's a touchy subject, obviously, and she's not even sure where the conversations might go ]

I want to know about your experience with death. [ She's going to try and go slow on this. As slow as Lydia Martin wanting to know something can. But things are pretty messed up. She feels pretty messed up. And she'll even tell her reasons for asking if she's asked ]

Not just if you know someone has died but... if you've seen it. [ A two second pause ] Or nearly died.

It's happened here, and could have happened a lot more. [ If Dirk hadn't put out that useful message. People were still taken but at least they were warned ]

But- Can people come back? [ It might sound crazy, but it's happened before. It happened to Jackson - twice, although that was a supernatural thing. But it leaves the possibility, right? ]

[Dilandau's lounging at his kitchen table, nursing a steaming mug and propping his face up with his left hand. His hair is damp and loose to his shoulders and he's only in his lilac undershirt, but despite this he's made sure that he doesn't look dishevelled before he starts filming himself.

He sounds a bit bored as he begins]

The butterfly I'm barracking with hasn't shown his face for a while. Twenty-four, if you've moved out, come and fetch your stuff or I'm using it as fuel for my next bonfire.

[The view swings wildly, showing a neat kitchen and his armoured jacket slung on a nearby chair as he grabs his mug and drains it. When he swings the camera back to his face he's looking more awake]

Wallie, get your kilt on and come to our usual sparring spot in thirty miets. If we don't get that bulk of yours moving soon you'll go slack again.

[The jibe is in good humour, which shows in his sharp grin he flashes before he turns the feed off]

[ It's fairly early when Allison poses her question to the network. Not obnoxiously so, just a little earlier than most would expect a teenager to be up of her own accord. She's already been for a run and there's a little evidence to show as much. She's just a little puffed, breathing returning to it's normal rate, and the clothes she's scavenged from the house aren't an ideal fit, but they're still closer to gym gear than the dress she'd arrived in (thanks scientists). Her hair is piled up in a loose bun on the top of her head, cheeks still just a little flushed, and she's only just at the door. She really should go inside and get herself sorted first, but network etiquette 101 is escaping her right now - and besides, the question is important.

There's a friendly smile at least, and for a moment she just eyes the feed a little, unsure of how to start. Finally it comes with a light clear of her throat and a sheepish look at the device on her wrist.
]

So I really hope this thing is working, or I'm going to look like an idiot. [ She laughs, a little awkward, and moves to sit down on the porch. The video jerks in response to the movement, but settles again once she does. ] I just have a quick question, nothing too taxing I promise.

[ She glances away for a second, a little stuck for how to pose the question without sounding like she's up to something, but finally just decides to bite the bullet. Everyone needs to defend themselves, right? That sea monster sure proved that. ]

I'm looking for a bow. Mine got...left behind, I guess, and I'd just- I'd feel a lot more comfortable if I had one. If anyone knows where there might be something like that around town or...God, even if you know how to make one, I'd really appreciate the pointers.

[ She pauses again, all awkward awkward Allison, and she's about to add something else.

Unfortunately at that point, the feed cuts out. Or perhaps fortunately, for the people listening. At that rate, they were going to be there all day.

[The video feed starts and quickly travels up over an unathletic naked torso before landing on Dirk's face. By the background of the shot, it's easy to figure that he's in his bedroom and has just woken up. His eyes are unfocused, his hair ever wilder than usual, and his breath coming in quick breaths that suggest he's calming himself down from a panic.]

People of Cape Kore... [He clears his throat and blinks a few times, seeming to come more awake as he does.] I'm am fairly certain that I have experienced an episode of narcoleptic clairvoyance.

[In his dream, he is on the beach, staring out at the sea. Without warning or preparation, he's underwater, a mute and helpless observer to the fresh scene presented to him. Through the murky distance, the tentacled arm of some great sea monster wraps around a flailing body and pulls it away out of sight. He's left standing on the beach once more, seeing nothing but the waves.]

As some of you know, I have a...facility for predicting the future in my sleep. I have seen...a kraken. Taking...I don't know whom. Someone. I don't think the ocean is safe now or in the near future.

[He drags a hand over his face, and his voice loses most of it's previous adamant intensity.] There is the possibility that I have been eating entirely too much fish. But I assure you that this vision felt very real.

[ The face of one redhead that you might have seen before (but not for a few days). One that looks just a little freaked out (though is that any different to her regular face here?) ]

I don't know what's worse. Coming back here or what I came from.

[ It's not really the kind of thought you want to hear, or echo, but it's what she's wondering. It's what's on her mind, anyway.

It's late. She's been back for a few hours, and after getting back to her house and room she's tried to see (at least externally) what's changed. It doesn't look like a lot but: ]

I don't suppose that anything's changed around here? A mall opening, or a permanent door out? Or even less monsters.

[ Here's a face that may not be familiar to many of those who are new. He looks weary, but that's mostly just the way his face looks. He also maybe looks just the slightest bit irritated, in the way that a man trying his hardest to look patient always does. ]

It has come to my attention that not many of you know who I am. I'd like to properly introduce myself to the cape at large, for all those who are newcomers here.

My name is Edgar Stane, and I have taken up a leadership position here in the cape. I admit that I have been quiet these past few weeks, and for that I would like to apologize. I mean to have a more noticeable presence in the near future. That said and done, I have a few things that I'd like to say to you all.

Our current situation with food has been in dire straits for a while now. Since the formation of the committees, we've been doing marginally better in food storage, but it is an ongoing process. I have been working with the leaders of the committees in charge of food production to make sure that everybody gets their fair share of food. If you do not feel as though you are getting an equal share, please do come talk to me. I will do my best to resolve any problem brought to me.

Secondly, I've found what appears to be... some sort of documentation. What I've managed to make out could be important information regarding how we've all come to be here, and why we can't leave. If you are interested, again, come talk to me in person. I've taken residence in the Town Hall.

[ He gives a huge sigh. ] And lastly, I've heard rumors of people in our community who have deemed it appropriate to keep the wild animals from the forest as pets. I'd like to take this moment to remind you all what happened the last time those of our numbers attempted this, and ask you to remember the unfortunate and awful deaths that resulted from it. These are and always will be wild animals, and I urge you all to keep that in mind.

I believe that's all. If you need anything from me at all, please, don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for your time.

Evening, Cape Kore. Sleep well? [ He's doing his creeper grin and spooky voice and making fun of the dream thing, which seems to have stopped for the moment, but that doesn't mean it still doesn't severely irritate him that he never could get a handle on whatever was going on. ]

Thought you should know that now that we have all this free time, what with not skipping around each other's dreams or that weird city that wasn't actually made out of candy [ bummer ], you can go check out the diner. The project's wrapped. Everyone did a hell of a job, even sleep deprived, so thanks.

I must say that I have found the process of dreaming to be an interesting experience. I did not think that once I had returned to my normal state after having been human I would be able to experience it again, though other people's dreams was not something I anticipated.

[Daneel's manner is, as always, solemn, but he seems to have a certain extra weight to his words today. He has a serious matter to address.]

To anyone whose dreams I may have intruded upon, I beg your pardon.

[With that out of the way, he straightens.]

I have always considered humanity to be something other than myself, and something greater. There are a number of traits I have thought myself incapable of, but now I am not certain of that. A redefinition is necessary. I have an important question, and if anyone can spare the time to answer it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Namely, how would you define a sentient being that could be referred to as a person?

I've been here for fourteen days. I'm sure that a lot of you have been here for longer. I'm also certain that this might not matter with what's going on now but you might be surprised. It's difficult to paint one's nails when you've got a camera attached to your wrist, you know. [ The brush hovers just outside of the feed, threatening to drip purple paint everywhere, and Magnus' eyes - glamoured unless you have the inherent ability to see those golden cat eyes - blink sleepily at the unfashionable wedge locked to his skin. But suddenly the mood shifts. He grins, teeth sharp and very, very white. ] I'm a little confused as to why actually. I know I'm particularly fabulous but I'm not sure we could really drum up a whole cast for the next big reality show. Some of you are clearly Mundanes and while I find you very charming it's not like you're going to burst into a shower of champagne any time soon. Unless you're dreaming - which by the way, some of you obviously need psychiatric help. If I find a couch big enough I'll open my doors. But what's the point in filming all those hours of pointless activity in between?

[ His fingers let go of the brush for a second, letting it hover long enough for him to run a hand through his thick hair. It's immediate, the illusion shifting from him like running water. To the humans he changes - Magnus Bane the High Warlock of Brooklyn is tired of pretending. And so he gives the floating brush a grin, eyes flashing like a headlight has been shone to them. This is who he is. This place is clearly a melting pot for specific creatures and he's crippling himself by pretending to be normal. His derision is a ploy after all. Pretend to be bored and the villain usually shows his hand. It's something he learnt from a number of impudent but beautiful Herondales.

And Magnus has shown himself to the Mundanes before, if they react badly he can just - well, brood fashionably he supposes. On his psychiatric couch.

His magic doesn't last long though, not with the way the brush then shudders and drops to the floor, his spark dying out. Magnus blinks and then his features shift suddenly, frustration and anger mingling on his handsome face.
] Oh for the love of Kim Kardashian why is this happening?

[ His gaze narrows as he regards the bright splash of colour on the floor. It's been on and off since he got here. He had assumed that the trauma of being kidnapped had something to do with it. And then Alec had shown up and Magnus had other things to think about. Namely the shattered pieces of his sticky-taped heart. But he's not going there. ] All right, spill. Who's messing with my mojo?

[ Another pause. ] I need a drink.

[ when the video comes on, it's on accident, and there's a moment there where the feed shakes around a bit before it jerks - almost as if someone hit it, before it tilts back to a head full of red hair and a very unamused look. ]

Not sure on what planet these kinds of kidnapping-and-drugging shenanigans are even legal, but hey, I can take a joke. You did a great job setting this up, but genre clash? Doesn't start till next month. And this whole Silent Hill thing - what did you call it, Cape Kore? - while really cool and thought out and overall A plus for effort, still not okay. Not a game, here! [ and wow, okay, flashback. why are there so many weirdos who take this game too seriously? she's really done getting kidnapped, and there's no hot fairy here. so immediate negative points. ]

The wrist communicator is really cool. Feeling a little Might Morphin, just without the ti kwan do or spandex suits. Not that I want the suits, but just, if you're going to go half-way might as well go the full way. Go big or go home. Right? [ and at this point she's just kind of babbling. someone's starting to feel really, really nervous. ] I'm serious, guys. Not funny. I just- home? Yeah? Please?

[ there's a moment where she bites her lower lip, looking off and around her - seeing only a cape and a lighthouse and totally unable to drop that 'Big Brother is Watching' feeling creeping down the back of her neck. after the moment is over, she closes her eyes, as if she's finally convincing her to say something she'd been worried about saying.

and, with her eyes closed (though her left does peek open to the camera), she continues. while she is secretly hoping no one answers this last bit because that would not be good. really really not good. ]

And Sam and Dean, if you two are here...help?

How do I get in touch with Mr. Sandman to tell him to get out of my freaking head?

[ Good evening, Cape Kore. Dean's been talking to some of his housemates and has put enough together to know that something weird's going on in Dreamland. ]

Whoever's snorting the dream dust, knock it off. And none of you are invited to my head, so keep out.

[ Running around in Charlie's dreams not too long ago was too much like what's going on now, though one weird thing sticks out. Well, weirder. ]

--oody thing. [He looks pretty pleased at succeeding in making it do something. Unfortunately that wasn't quite what he was intending and that look is quickly replaced by confusion.] Wait, is that a video?

[He taps it, interest momentarily overriding his annoyance with it. He spends a few moments turning the video off and on again, obviously impressed despite his situation. This is repeated about five times before the video is turned off and stays off completely. Instead he switches it to audio.]

[Audio]

This is DC Skelton. I dunno if you can hear this, or I'm just standing here looking like a tosser. Just to let you know I got your message. I don't really want to stay here. If you could sort something out to get me home... proper home... that'd be a good idea. The charges for kidnapping a police officer are probably pretty high, so it's in your best interests to let me go now so's you won't be in so much trouble. I mean, you'll still be arrested, but if you let me go sooner they might be a bit more lenient with you. Possibly. If you get a judge that's soft enough.

[There's an awkward, drawn out pause.]

...so, I'll leave you to think about it. Ta.

I've had a thought, Kore--because I do that, occasionally, when I'm not too busy drinking. We've had a lot of new arrivals turn up injured lately, and also a number of re-arrivals with nasty wounds. What about a few of us volunteering as a quick-response group for these occasions? A welcoming committee for the bruised and bleeding, as it were.

I don't know whether the infirmary is equipped for overnight stays, so someone will have to inform me. I'm afraid to go look. If not, maybe some sort of temporary shelter would be appropriate, as well.

...

I don’t know who brought me here. If your sole intention was to kill me, come and find me.

[ It's still early morning, but he's no longer in Beacon Hills, and he doesn't need to reach out with werewolf senses to figure that much out. He can scent fear and desperation, but no immediate threat, which helps in remaining calm. Not knowing where he is or how someone brought him here worries him, though, especially with the alpha pack looming nearer; he's more concerned about what they might do with him out of the way, leaving the town open and vulnerable to attack.

But at least he appears to be here alone, no one around him that he knows to get hurt, because he's lost too much already and doesn't think he can take another hit so soon. Still, he's out of his territory, away from what's left of his pack, and, alpha or not, he's weak, here, like this.

He looms onto the small screen, brow tightly knitted and eyes glaring daggers, voice deep and demanding, carrying an air of confidence of a leader, even if he's currently in doubt, and one that would make someone think twice about questioning unless they happened to be suicidal.
]

Let's get this over with. [ Nothing he's picking up on suggests that his captors know of what he is, but he's not ruling it out; he's not going to make an announcement about it, either. ] Tell me what it is that you want. If it's within reason, I'll help. But if it's not... [ He lowers his head, cracks his neck one way and then the other somewhat threatening, hands out of shot, but curling into tight fists, fighting to keep the claws in, and then looks back into the thing with a slight twist to his lips, like he's got a secret he's dying to share in the worst way. ] Well, let's just say that you're not going to like the outcome.

[ If he's taking a little satisfaction in the fact he's figured out the network device and is actually communicating over it since there's no one around to ask at present - well, sometimes it's the small victories, and it helps distract him from the fear of being removed from familiar territory. ]

So, what is it going to be?

[Welcome to the semi-smiling visage of Riley, Kore.]

Hey. It's me, obviously. Um, I was just thinking since there's new people arriving here and I know I haven't actually gotten to meet about half of the people currently here, maybe we could have a sort of... bake out?

I'm planning on going fishing today, so I could plan to grab enough for anyone wanting to come. I'd really like to see who's here that's willing to try to get together to figure out what exactly is going on and what we intend to do about it. We might be stuck here, but there's no reason we have to be secluded while we are.

[Except for hunters. Dean, this means you.]

I just think we might want to start acting a little more like we're all stuck here together instead of having ulterior motives or ones that, you know, completely screw with people when they go and do things by themselves.

[This might be directed at the Doctor and anyone involved with the event that had her freaking out like any animal during an earthquake/natural disaster. She was very not happy with you.]

It may be ridiculous to ask, but, hey, why not, right? If anyone wants to come, please do. If not, that's just more fish for me.
