Evening, Cape Kore. Sleep well? [ He's doing his creeper grin and spooky voice and making fun of the dream thing, which seems to have stopped for the moment, but that doesn't mean it still doesn't severely irritate him that he never could get a handle on whatever was going on. ]

Thought you should know that now that we have all this free time, what with not skipping around each other's dreams or that weird city that wasn't actually made out of candy [ bummer ], you can go check out the diner. The project's wrapped. Everyone did a hell of a job, even sleep deprived, so thanks.

Hunting/Fishing? Farming? You wanna tap someone or a couple someones to set up some communal cooking? Figure it makes sense to put all our eggs in one basket in this case. [ Ha. ]

[ Oh hey, Dean. Ned's been avoiding talking to you or encountering you in any way for... let's just say a long time, but needs must. ]

I'm willing to be one of those someones who cooks, and I can do my best to coordinate with anyone else who is qualified. I think the biggest issue isn't going to be finding volunteers, it's going to be convincing people to pool their supplies.

[ Because food scarcity means paranoia means hoarding, and Ned's not really intimidating enough to badger people into sharing for the common good. Maybe Dean will have more success? ]

Figure it'd be easiest to get the leaders of the other two teams, since they're going to be the ones gathering up supplies in bulk, and have the clubs help supply it.

These woods are full of tigers and wolves and bears, and if you wander out enough you're bound to find one. How can people not want to be in on this? It's like shooting predators in a barrel.

You realise having the diner up and running doesn't mean someone if going to provide you with an endless supply of burgers, right?

Sure it does. Me. S'why I'm on the hunting team too, so I can make sure we get some good burger meat in there.

Of course, he doesn't know what she's thinking. She wants to be kind of short and weird with him, cool with him. ]

Sounds great. I'll be there. We were thinking with this diner, we'd start doing communal meals. Build up a community vibe, keep us as a solid unit, maybe conserve some of our supplies that way. You interested in helping out with that?

We're never talking about that. [ Other than invading other peoples dreams being just wrong, as curious as she could be about what the hell she walked in to she's not going to ask. She doesn't really want to know, not with the kind of horrors she guesses could be involved. She'd rather not talk about nightmares at all for, well, ever ]

[ Dean switches this over to private. He's not campaigning to keep his time in Hell secret, but he'd rather not make it a topic of common conversation, which makes her proposition sound awesome to him. ]

[This isn't going to be a helpful response; he can't cook, he's still pretty lost on the whole farming thing even if he did join the club, and he doesn't know anyone around here well enough to know if any of them can cook. He's just curious. So, you get an only slightly clueless looking baby angel staring at you through the feed, Dean.]

A diner is an establishment where people go to eat, correct?

[Totally unhelpful. But he knows unfortunately little about human things, okay? He just wants to make sure he's got his terminology right.]

[ Might be unhelpful, but with the other Cas missing, it's kind of nice to see a familiar angel face that Dean doesn't to smash in. ]

[She's been glad to offer the help on fixing up the place, though. It's something to do. A sense of accomplishment is important when you're... well, essentially trapped.]

But I can help fish, if more help on that front is ever needed.

I'm more of a griller. [ And he's damn good too, thanks! ] Sounds like we have enough interest, at least to get a couple group meals going. Not that I'm trying to make myself in charge of that one too. [ He isn't exactly rolling his eyes, but... ]

Yeah, we should do that now that we've got more time. Fishing and hunting. Do you hunt?

I wouldn't necessarily mind lending a hand with the cooking. [There is a tone in her voice that implies she's quite excellent at it.] Although my specialties lie in vegan and vegetarian cuisine, I've lived with a few carnivores in the past.

[It's not something she wants to get into, however.]

In regard to divvying up food, you could always have some sort of agreement that if you come to the diner and if you allow someone to cook for you, you will surrender your foodstuffs to the people who work there under the implication that you will get your fair share.

[ He makes a face at vegetarian and vegan. It was bad enough that one time he and Sam couldn't eat any processed foods. He can't imagine life without heart attack burgers, but volunteers to cook are good. And there are other people who are going to cook real food, probably. ]

Good, yeah. In that case you might want to check out what Farming's doing. But that's a really good idea about making it a kind of pay-in, barter-type arrangement. I like that. You got good ideas.

Please, yes. [ How relieved does he sound? So relieved. ] I want to eat there, not plan it. Ned's like allergic to raising his voice so you might be hauling a lot of weight there.

What if you've never had to practise any of these skills but you'd still rather like to survive in a place like this? Is there anyone around here who's interested in teaching?

Which things? Hunting, fishing, and/or farming? Yeah, I could show you a few things. There's a list of the club members in the city hall; you could always tag along to a meeting, see if you can shadow some people.
