[It's been a week since Anita's arrival in the Cape, and all that time, she's managed to monitor the network without actually making herself known, taking the opportunity the blackout and the defunct network had provided her to move around town unnoticed and get the lay of the land. By now, she's more or less settled -- she has housemates she gets along with reasonably well, one of them a stray Allison brought home after no less than two days after their arrival. She has a potential ally in a man she's still not entirely convinced isn't a yeti, and a woman who practically reeks of magic but without that undertone of malice.
All things considered, there's something of a silver lining to this new situation, though she certainly has plenty of choice words for their captors if she ever gets the chance. She's determined to make that opportunity arise sooner or later.
When she addresses the feed, she's sitting on the front steps of House 10, arms resting on her knees.]
I haven't been here long, but I think I've got most of the details by now. [People had been helpful, for the most part.] The food supply is low and it sounds like people are doing whatever they can to help supplement it. I hear people hunt. I'd like to get in on that, but it would help to know what's available to us in the way of weapons.
[She has her knives, and her guns with their limited ammo, but she's never been much of a trapper despite being vaguely outdoorsy. She'd done a lot of field work during college that had required her to spend time out in the woods and knew well enough how to forage, but hunting anything that wasn't, you know, monstrous was entirely new. Animals couldn't be all that different, could they? Just... smaller. Potentially less vicious.
Right.]
Do we have the resources to replace or even forge spent ammunition, for instance? Or do we get to play pioneer and do it the authentic way?
[You know. Bows and arrows. That kind of thing.]
Any kind of feedback would be appreciated. If I'm going to be stuck here, might as well pitch in and do what I can to help.

That sounds scary, but easy to spot, anyway. [ He clears his throat. ] Fair warning that a lot of the stuff we might hunt back home... could be here. I mean, I warned you already, but just uh... Go easy on the trigger finger.

[Because even by rough description, they are seriously harrowing. Their deeds performed while in human bodies are bad enough. Of course, there are a million other monsters to be dealt with, so the rarity of demons isn't really all that comforting.]
Sounds like they'd be pretty damn hard to miss.
[She pauses, raising an eyebrow. Huh. Protecting someone? She shrugs fluidly, shaking her head.]
If they're not hurting anyone, then they've got nothing to worry about. [She knows plenty of werewolves or leopards who are good people in crappy circumstances, and as much as she hates to admit it, some vampires that have grown on her, too.] If they're attacking or preying on the people stuck here? I can't make any promises. But if they play nice, so will I.
I don't hunt things because of what they are. [Not anymore.] I hunt things because of what they do. There's a difference.

Seems fair. It's good to meet another hunter. For a while it felt like I was the only one around here. [ He's been an endangered species before, emphasis on endangered; he likes having company. ]
It's nice to add you to the ranks.

[And one who doesn't seem to be a complete sociopath, although she's sure that could change. Edward, after all, was incredible at playing the role of the friendly, smiling good ol' boy, but as soon as he had a weapon in his hands, his eyes went empty and that smile of his dropped dead. She'd known him for ears and she was pretty sure it's never going to stop being creepy.]
Are there others like us here? Folks who have experience with all those creepy-crawlies?

[Eh. She knows about all kinds of monsters, knows about demons and believes in God and angels. Aliens aren't that big a stretch. She can roll with it.]
I know Allison, though. We're roommates. Arrived together, got assigned together. Worked out pretty well.

There was a guy who turned into a big monster when he was pissed, but he's gone now. Kinda figured there'd be more infighting but things have been okay for the most part.

Someone her age shouldn't have to have their act together like that, but she does. [For Anita, she'd at least gotten to wait until college for anything more than raising zombies.] But I guess sometimes life makes those choices for us.
Guess there's something to be said for a bunch of people being stuck in the same place. We can't really afford to make enemies of each other, right?

Yeah, that's the idea. Helps if you don't come in with some enemies pre-loaded. [ And his face tells her that he totally has. ] It's mostly been petty shit, and lately everyone's been playing nice in their own corners. Nothing really major.

I'm hoping nobody from home ends up following me here for that reason. Most of them are enemies. The few I'd call friends? Don't want 'em stuck here, and hell, even some of them could cause their fair share of trouble. It's probably cliche to say it, but if anyone from home turned up -- this town wouldn't be big enough for the both of us. I don't envy you for being part of a collected set.

Thanks. No kidding, though. I mean, guess everyone gets into the business for different reasons. Everyone has different values. That makes some more dangerous than others, and it's not always the ones you'd think.
