So uh...hi.
[ a+ charlie bradbury. best start to a conversation ever. good job. ]
I'm starting to realize this might actually be the worst timing ever, what with the whole destruction of buildings and earthquake shenanigans and all that jazz, but the network's working again! Or like, un-glitch-afied. Again. And I've kind of been working on this for a while? So why not.
[ and now she smiles. big, look at how cute i am kind of thing. she's really cute guys love her. ]
I'm Charlie, by the way. [ vulcan salute hello. ] Been around for a little bit, just your average geek-without-her-tech. For all you crazy kids I haven't met, hi. For all you crazy kids I have met...hi also.
And yeah okay, everyone's probably going to be rebuilding and surviving and doing that thing we do when we want to not live in houses with holes in the ceiling... [ charlie looks up above her for a moment before sighing and shaking her head. ] But I kind of sort of noticed that a lot of us, when we're not hunting and fishing and generally being great awesome citizens-of-the-month, are bored. Like. Seriously, going kind of insane, bored.
I miss the internet. I know, I know, shock, but a lot of my life was on there for a really long time. I started LARPing a while ago and got really into that, but other than a select few thespian friends I've met, I can't see people really getting into the world of live action RPing. Thus I come to you, my dear, sweet Kore, with another option.
[ at this moment, charlie reaches down to the table in front of her, picking up what looks like a very large piece of paper with a map drawn into it. ]
Table top gaming. [ she says that like it carries a lot of weight, like there should be some applause backtrack going on in her life. if she had her laptop, she could be playing a nice little trumpet sound right about now, but instead? silence. she looks excited enough, so there's always that. ] Figured D&D is probably the most popular, so we could do a version of that. I'm probably gonna be the only DM around here, so depending on who all's interested I could change the game up, but for those of you who don't know- D&D is a table top role play game, or RPG. You make characters, with all these specifics that you peeps are so lucky because I've got that shit memorized, and they go on an adventure.
It's fun, it doesn't involve possibly going out into the dark and life-threatening forest, and it's social. [ ohhhhh, ahhhhhhh. ] We're all stuck here anyway, so might as well make the most of it, right? Right.
Drop your name if you're interested. Gotta gauge how popular this is before I actually get this crap organized. Oh also! If you find any more paper or like...drawing supplies. Collect 'em for me? I might be the master of memorizing kind of useless details, but even I've got a limit here.
And...yeah. Guess that's all I wanted to PSA at everyone. Charlie out.

It might not be the most productive thing to be doing, but a part of Sam knows that going out of his mind from boredom isn't much better. ]
It'll be good to get everyone together every now and then when it's not just business. Good idea, Charlie. [ He offers up a smile. ] At least I won't have to worry about finding face paint for this adventure.
[ and there's not even a question there, bro. you are also listed under 'those who are coming whether they want to or not'. ]
I'll stick with the pen and paper. Probably less messy and easier to get a hold of. You up for giving us all some classes in this stuff?
They do say the pen's mightier than the foam sword.
[ Weirdly, he's looking forward to it a little. Might not be his cup of tea, but it'll be funny to see Dean try it out at least.
It'll give him some good bro ammo. ]
Need any help gathering supplies, or you got everything you need?
It's just a matter of getting my people to keep up.
[ but then she shrugs. ]
I think we got everything, actually, but you'll be my first call if I think of something that needs heavy lifting.
Which means being the one to lift the heavy stuff.
He's okay with that. ]
As long as you aren't trying to get me to make soap for you, I'm good with any heavy lifting. [ And there's a pause as his brow furrows. Maybe he shouldn't joke about the soap thing, who knows if Ellen is nearby to hear him and make him actually do it. ] You gonna be using the bar for meeting up?
[ Seems like the logical choice. That or the diner. And he saw Ellen's offer. ]
Not on the agenda, but I'll keep it in mind. [ he's going to get an evil grin right then. but then it's right back into norma-charlie, though she does look pretty excited. ]
Yeah man. Ellen offered up the bar and I couldn't say no to that. Would've used my house if the sky wasn't currently trying to force its way in.

[ Not exactly demon friendly, and for a moment Sam feels slightly bad for excluding their one local demon from their activities. The moment passes, though, because honestly he'd rather keep the peace. ]
Was your place damaged in that quake we had?
no subject
[ she looks around her for a sec before realizing she's getting distracted and turning back. ]
Huh? Oh. I mean- kinda? There's a giant hole in the roof in the living room, which is great in some ways because I def wanted a skylight since I was maybe ten years old, but if it rains we're out of luck. So someplace that is un-holed would probably be best. Also, alcohol.
no subject
Two really good selling points in my mind. [ She shouldn't be living in such a hole-y house, though. ] You know, if you want the hole fixed or covered, all you have to do is call me or Dean.
[ Which is his way of saying gosh, Charlie, the elements need to be outside, not in. ]
no subject
Wait, so you two moonlight as handy-men too? I had no idea.
[ two large men in plaid. really. she couldn't guess. ]
no subject
Guess we're just full of surprises. [ His mouth quirks up just a bit. ] Haven't figured out plumbing yet, but it's something to work on.
no subject
As long as you two don't grow the gut and the ass-crack to go along with the job, I'm good.
[ you were asking for her approval anyway, right? ]
But seriously though, that would be super awesome. But I'm sure there are a bunch of other places that are a little more needy- like. Roofless or wall-less.
no subject
darkerbetter taste, okay. ]We'll keep that in mind.
[ No promises, Charlie. Actually, he thinks if he and Dean tackled a plumbing job...well. Whatever it was probably wouldn't work just right ever again. ]
Pretty sure all the buildings around this place could use some fixing up. Guess it makes sense not to do too much repair, if there are earthquakes happening.
