[Martha looks oddly happy for her. Not as happy as she should, but she's not moping.]

Right. How would everyone feel about a variety show. I'm a storyteller, I know someone who plays music. Anyone else have a talent they would be willing to share?

Over five minutes! Well how about that. Stupid human tricks are always fun. Or if there’s any other talents you have. Someone else mentioned knife throwing already.

It's well over five minutes. It's what I was trained for. That a multitude of other very bad things. [ Alec could throw knives, but that's lame and he finds it very dull. ] I can tell what numbers are being called on a phone just listening to the tone. Like I said--my tricks are severely limited to violence and being overly cheesy.

You must have been training for some really interesting stuff then. Most humans don't need to hold their breath for well over five minutes.

Mostly murder. Sometimes espionage. [ He's always willing to talk about his work, but most of the time it's done in a joking manner. Like right now. As he smiles and pretends he's messing with her. ] It's just a talent I picked up.

Murder? Remind me not to get on your bad side.

[She's not quite so sure his joke is a joke at all. But she's not going to comment on it... yet.]

Maybe you can hold your breath during someone else's act.
