[Hello Kore, there's a Doctor on screen for you! He's grinning from ear to ear, kicked back in a chair, feet raised up, clearly in the diner.]

I heard there's some new arrivals! Hello, there. I do love new guests to this humble island that we're ever so blessed to inhabit.

Oh-- Is that a religious enough reference?

[The chair snaps down and he's sitting up in his chair, leaning forward with his hands clasped before him.]

What's all the fuss about this 'king of hell' bloke I've heard about? I do love a good story! I met the devil once, have I mentioned that? Stuck on an asteroid? Strange one, that one.

C'mon now! Story time!

Lucifer is the true King of Hell. He is the creator of all demons. He is our God and our father.

[ Meg spent years as a Lucifer Loyalist. The novelty of that wore off when she found out Lucifer was only using the demons as tools and intended to destroy them all. But there's still a little part of her that loves him. ]

Crowley is a second-rate crossroads demon who rose too high above his station.

[Yes, the Doctor knows there's other 'demons' here, but that's besides the point. He licks his lips and nods in both mock amusement and understanding.]

Right... And either one of them, how much do they detest the angels?

I'm still not convinced your devil story isn't all a great big pack of lies. Then again, I'm pretty sure most your stories are made up, Time Boy.

You gotta admit, some of your stories are pretty wacky.

[Hi there, Doctor! Have a long stare from an angel. A long, silent stare, like he's waiting for you to do a trick or sprout an extra head or something.

At length, he says mildly, but with no shift in expression:]

I believe we discussed some of this not long ago. Did you need further clarification?

Yes, now that someone mentioned there's two. As far as my extention of theology goes, there should only be one devil. I'm guessing one is a mockery of the other?

[And with the faintest of smiles, he knew how that could be, with his own people as an example.]

One is an archangel who had...a falling out with the rest of the family. My elder brother, Lucifer. [Balthazar speaks slowly, considering every word before it comes out of his mouth, because this is unlocked and he has to assume both Michael and Lucifer (and likely Raphael, as well) will be listening.]

The other is a demon, which presumably means he was human once and made some questionable choices. I know very little else about him, but he's been here before. Lived with Donna briefly, even. I can't imagine he's a nice fellow; one doesn't get to be king of hell by shaking hands and kissing babies. But I have no gossip to share on him. [If he did, he'd be happy to do so, really.]

There may very well have been multiple rulers of Hell--there's a hierarchy there, and as I understand it, it's a bit complex--but there's only been one being in my world who has been referred to as 'the Devil'. I don't particularly care to offend him. I don't wonder that you're curious, but tread lightly.

I'm awfully curious about these new arrivals. You have to admit you are a bit too.

[There may be an eyebrow cocked at that, waiting in amusement.]

I... know who they are. Soldiers and Hands of God, they mete out punishment. When they appear to humans whom they mean no harm, they say "Fear not" and they are to be respected and feared.

[No, she's not curious at all. She wants to hide away from them.]

He wasn't very 'little'; actually, quite large comparing ourselves to him.

Soo... how'd you know he was Satan? Was he bright red with horns and a tail? Did he introduce himself as master of all evil or the prince of darkness? Because, uh, in my experience, folks who do that aren't actually Lucifer. They're usually just heavy metal fans.

[ Hello, Doctor. This Devil looks a bit less of an eighty-foot demonic alien, and much more like someone's middle-aged dad. There's an edge to his words, veiled but present, but on the whole? Lucifer is pretty unruffled. ]

It was a bit shameful, if I were in your shoes at the time, well, I don't think there were any shoes being worn at the time. I was. He wasn't.

....Do they even make them that big?

[Real life questions. This is truly the Doctor.]

[ ...well. This one's inanity was worse than Gabriel, which is quite a feat. Lucifer's brow furrows as he attempts to parse the Doctor's babble. ]

I don't give much thought to the footwear of imposters.

[ It's said slowly, as though Lucifer can't quite believe the turn this conversation has taken. ]

You know, I've been here awhile, but I don't think we've met yet.

[Which really isn't terribly surprising, given Anita's general avoidance of the network her first few weeks here.]

Come on, you can't just say you've met the devil and not tell the whole story.

[He waves his hand at her, wiggling his fingers with a big smile. A moment later he's slipping off his feet from the table and leaning forward into the camera.]

I happened to come across base on Krop Tor with my friend, Rose. We were stuck, but found out that there was the devil trapped in the depths of the planet there possessing members of the ship of a deep space exploration team.... Long story short, he still remains stuck and has visited a black hole!

[She smiles right back at him -- she doesn't generally consider herself to be much of a people person, but what can she say? That smile is contagious.]

Huh. You don't say. And I'm guessing it's safe to assume that's not the only story you have like that, right?
