[The feed is focused on a young teen's face. Her hair's dirty, there are bags under her eyes, and there's evidence of having recently had a bloody nose as well as a spatter of it across her cheek. Though she at least seems to know what to do with a smartphone, she still gives the phone a confused frown.]

Is this even... I don't think I called anyone? Maybe it's like a public broadcast? Or I'm just talking to myself.

Okay, if anyone can see this, can you let me know, please? Even if you don't have any information or whatever, I am freaking the hell out, please just let me know there's someone else here. I mean, if you've got answers, I am so not about to turn that down, because I've got about a million questions, but, y'know. One thing at a time, right?

I'm fine. Or, at least I'm not hurt or anything. I'm still freaking out, but it's not like I'm going to be doing anyone any good if I lose my head.

I'm Carter, and the way you're specifying "immediate" danger is making me a little bit nervous.

Heh, sorry. This is kind of a weird place. Sometimes there are earthquakes and stuff. I haven't been here long either, though. What I mean is, everything's calm right now, but whether it'll stay that way is anyone's guess.

I think I recognize the hall you're in. Want me to meet you?

Oh. [Don't mind her, she's just going to try and wipe off the remnants of her nosebleed on the end of her sleeve. Gross, Carter. Gross.] That, um. That happens, it's no big deal.

Donna mentioned earthquakes, I think. Glad I at least came in on a slightly less weird note, at least?

I'd appreciate some company, yeah. I mean, if you're not busy or anything.

[There's a brief flicker of one brow going up, but Courtney refrains from comment.] Yeah, we had to run through some tunnels to get to this place from the shore where we were stuck before. I liked the shore better.

[She flashes a brief smile and nods.] No problem. There's not a lot to do here. I'll be down in a minute.

[The feed fizzles out, but it's no more than ten minutes before light footsteps echo down the hall close by.]

[She returns the smile before the feed shuts off, and spends the time waiting getting familiar with the hallway. She doesn't wander far, but she definitely wants to explore.

Carter perks up when she hears footsteps, and calls out in their direction.]

Courtney?

Yep, it's me. [Courtney's all of about five feet tall, with short blond hair pulled back in a bat-shaped clip. She's got her hands in her coat pockets as she approaches, a casual stance, but she gives Carter a visual once-over. The skeleton leggings are a nice touch. Perhaps this is a kindred spirit, after all.]

Just so you're warned, the layout of the place does kinda seem to change. I've heard people say they can always find their rooms, though.

[Carter smiles at her as she approaches with a small, awkward sort of wave. She's definitely not quite used to seeing people her own age, and it shows.]

Wait, it changes? Huh.

[That definitely gets an interesting reaction out of her. Suddenly, she's looking at the walls around them, studying them with a wondering sort of smile.]

Wonder how they did that. I mean, theoretically, I know it's possible, but I never got as far as the how.

[That's an interesting response. Courtney raises an eyebrow, slightly amused.] I've heard there's some kind of machine? But just the rumor. I really don't know more than that, and it's hard to say whether it's magic or machinery or some kind of weird psychological trick.

You've studied this kind of thing before?
