[ Kevin's been working for a few days without sleep on the tablet, so when he wakes up, he figures he must've just passed out from exhaustion. He gets all the way to sitting up before he realizes that he isn't in the bunker.

When the feed switches on, it starts first staring up at the ceiling, while in the background, someone is very clearly laying waste to the bookshelf in their room. Kevin steps into the frame as he swings the shelf he'd ripped out to use as a weapon, and he decides it's acceptable before he sets it down. He has a bunch of papers, and as he puts them into an empty pillowcase, the cuneiform symbols can just be seen for what they are -- that is, ancient and unreadable.

He reaches for his shelf again, and now his face fully comes into frame. He looks like a guy who hasn't slept or eaten real food in a few days, with an added couple layers of complete panic. He has no clue where he is, who might've kidnapped him, what they want to use him for, but beneath the panic there's determination.

He made it this far; he won't let them win now.

Once he realizes the phone is broadcasting, he curses loudly and switches it off.

This plan would probably have gone a lot better if he hadn't been Skyping it. ]

[ That's not exactly what he said, but he'll take it, though he'll have to be on guard. Just in case Meg's changed her mind about being an ally since he last saw her. ]

Sure. Um... I don't know where I am. Should I meet up with you somewhere?

And do you think I need to be careful? [ That's Kevin's next concern. First, does he need to panic and hide somewhere because specific people are after him? No, apparently not. So next up is does he still need to panic and hide somewhere because some new threat might be particularly interested in the littlest prophet who could? ]

Do I need to start warding myself in somewhere? Or do you guys have a safe house? [ Kevin hasn't really lived outside of warded rooms or safehouses or freaking Crowley's compound since he became a prophet. Even when he gets away from the Winchesters, he has hex bags and wards. It feels weird to be out and about. ]

[ In many ways, Kevin isn't that different from your usual surly teenager. Before all this happened to him, it actually seemed somewhat unlikely that he'd even go through a surly phase. The prophet thing dragged it all out of him though, and mixed with a healthy dose of his underlying maturity, it's unlikely he'll grow out of being surly now.

He eyes her suspiciously at first, but he can't look through her to tell if she's a demon or not, just in case she's been lying to him all this time. ]

So are you voting for Abaddon or Crowley? [ He needs to screen her somehow, and he doesn't actually think a demon would really fall for that, but... He has to start somewhere. ]

[She feels him looking her over suspiciously. She's innocent of whatever he's thinking, but she knows what it's like to be suspicious of all. The question confuses her though.]

Who? I'm unfamiliar with the names. Are they new candidates for the US Presidency?

[foundacause]

[ Really, Kevin. Just because she's a demon doesn't mean she's going to change her mind without good reas-- wait, no. Probably best to be on guard. She is very much a demon who looks out for number one.

Aside from the whole dying for her cause thing... ]

No one stole you for the grand tour, yet? Think you can find your way to the kitchen?

[ Where all the sharp knives are. See how at ease she puts people? ]

[ Maybe he can defend himself there. There's salt in the kitchen too, and that puts him at ease somewhat. He nods and hangs up because if he changes his mind halfway through, he doesn't want her to know.

He doesn't, though, and he finds the kitchen relatively quickly, which is weird. He would've thought it'd be farther from his room, but he isn't going to complain.

Once he gets in there, you can bet he starts looking for salt and a knife. ]

[ He's staring at her hard now, trying to tell if her ignorance is fake or genuine.

He still hasn't answered her question, and then it dawns on him that he can test her another way. Quickly, he starts going through the cabinets, looking over the counters, until he finds the salt. He pours some out into his hand, and then holds out the other one. ]

Give me your arm.

[Steve's brow furrows in surprise. He's gotten so used to people trusting him that it's a shock when someone doesn't automatically.

He shakes his head.]

Something tells me you have a good reason not to, but I'm also not the one that looks like he's ready to fall over. I don't mean you any harm. If you're in trouble I can lend a hand. That's all.

[foundacause]

[ Meg makes her way to the kitchen. She still can't really wrap her head around the constantly moving rooms. Probably a good job she doesn't suffer with seasickness or whatever...

She leans against the doorframe. ]

You going to throw salt in my face if I come in?

[blackmagus]

[Fortescue waves a hand idly.]

Of course, darling. Just be careful about antagonizing anyone, unless you really want to use that shelf.

[Michael never promises more than he thinks he can deliver - but, of course, he has the typical arrogant attitude of an archangel. In some respects, he's all too confident in his abilities.

It's a bit of a moot point when there aren't any leviathan to speak of in the Science Centre, though.]

Leviathans. [If he hadn't already heard a veritable novel of absurdities about the future from a trusted source, he wouldn't believe it.] I don't think they'll be an issue. There aren't any here.

As far as anyone knows, we've been taken hostage by a group of scientists. No one's quite sure what they're studying or how they pick their captives.

[She's even more concerned for the kid than she had been before. His paranoia is severe and now he's doing something with salt. Martha almost says no. Almost. But he looks pretty serious and she really just wants to help him. It's not like the salt will do anything. She rolls up a sleeve and holds out her hand.]

And why do you need to sprinkle me with salt?

[It comes out sardonically. Part of her is wondering if she missed the tequila somehow.]

[ It's a little sad to see Kevin like this. Dragged into this world, taking hits left and right with no end in sight. Sam knows that insisting Kevin wouldn't need all that protection wouldn't ease his anxiety, but he doesn't want him holing up by himself somewhere. ]

Not anymore careful than normal. Since I've been here, most of the trouble we've run in to involves earthquakes, tunnels and sea monsters. [ But not since they showed up in this lab. Sam has to wonder if it was on purpose or if something actually did happen to the people here. ] Warding won't do much against whoever has us here, anyway.

Then I hope you don't get into any more trouble. [ Just to point that one out ] You've got a way to talk to people. Find something out.

[ Sorry, Steve. Even the people Kevin trusts have let him down plenty of times. He's gotten used to the idea that people are going to screw him over, no matter their intentions.

Once the flare of irritation passes, he can realize he's being a dick. He thinks he's earned the right to be a dick, but he's also aware that that's not the best way to conduct himself. He sighs heavily, looking away, and then back at Steve. ]

I'm fine. [ He's been living so long at the about-to-keel-over state that that's not too inaccurate. ] I just need to know if this place is -- if I'm in danger here. If I should find someplace to hide.

[vates]

Not if you come in. [ But if she decides to go apeshit on him? Yeah, he'll throw salt in her face. He keeps his grip on it, but he doesn't look like he's ready to attack her or anything. He leans back against the counter, warily checking out the rest of the room. ]

So what's the situation here?

[vates]

[ He snorts. He really shouldn't be so rude, but he's not in the headspace to recognize that yet. ]

I didn't mean to use it at all. What if someone out there recognized me who I didn't want to recognize me?

[vates]

Okay. [ No, that doesn't make him feel any safer and he's half wondering if he ought to make some hex bags anyway, draw up some spells, but he'll accept that there's nothing specifically already here that he'd be warding against. It'd just be for his peace of mind. ]

Wait, sea monsters? Is that a thing? [ Why not, if everything else is a thing. ] Does any of this ever slow down for you guys?

[foundacause]

[ Try not to freak out or anything, Kev, Meg's just whipping her angel blade out. No big deal.

But rather than attacking the baby prophet, she offers it to him, hilt first. ]

There, feel better now? Much more effective than salt - less messy too.

[ How is that for a sign of peace? Willingly handing over a powerful weapon than can kill her. ] I want it back later though.

[ She sighs and goes to grab a drink of water. ] We used to have a sea view and now we have these lovely clinical looking rooms.

And whatever brings us here is powerful enough to trap the four archangels with ease.

[ Kevin almost rolls his eyes -- no, wait, he definitely rolls his eyes. ]

It's not like I've never been chosen for a higher purpose before. [ He eyes Michael uncomfortably. ]

So you want to keep me somewhere safe? What does that mean? I'm not letting you box me up anywhere. [ Kevin will happily wall himself in, but he doesn't want to subject himself to anyone else's prison. ]

To make sure you're not a demon. [ He doesn't even blink or look for her reaction as he rubs her arm.

She doesn't pull away in pain, so that's a good start. ]

You're clean. [ He brushes his hands off and steps away from her, leaning on the counter instead. ]

[ charlie's only slightly confused by that rapid change in emotions there. only slightly. because after that moment she's got a whole ' other issue to worry about and that issue is not really ]

Me? [ yes, charlie, you know. logical progression of conversations. she gives him a totally nonchalant and not at all proud of herself shrug. ] Hunter in training, sort of. I've been on a few hunts on my own, but I'm still level one hunting material here. Maybe two, if I got experience from the Featuring the Winchesters hunts.

Everyone else who is stuck here. There are quite a number, all from different places, different universes and points in time.

[He explains it carefully and calmly, not wanting to cause Kevin any sort of panic or any kind of extreme reaction. Especially not now that he's calmer. There's a slight pause for a moment as Samandriel considers how to continue. When he presses on, it's with a bit more caution, but he figures it's something that the prophet should know.]

There are several other angels here, as well. Including the four archangels. [But maybe that's a bit too worrying to throw at him without something...more reassuring to go with it.] The Winchesters are also here, and many that know them. I didn't know any of them previously, but perhaps you will.

[ He's intensely suspicious, until he realizes what end of the blade she's offering him. Then he edges forward and takes it from her, and he watches her closely until he internalizes what just happened. ]

You've been here for a while then?

Charlie? As in -- wait, are you Charlie? Dean and Sam's friend?
