[ Kevin's been working for a few days without sleep on the tablet, so when he wakes up, he figures he must've just passed out from exhaustion. He gets all the way to sitting up before he realizes that he isn't in the bunker.

When the feed switches on, it starts first staring up at the ceiling, while in the background, someone is very clearly laying waste to the bookshelf in their room. Kevin steps into the frame as he swings the shelf he'd ripped out to use as a weapon, and he decides it's acceptable before he sets it down. He has a bunch of papers, and as he puts them into an empty pillowcase, the cuneiform symbols can just be seen for what they are -- that is, ancient and unreadable.

He reaches for his shelf again, and now his face fully comes into frame. He looks like a guy who hasn't slept or eaten real food in a few days, with an added couple layers of complete panic. He has no clue where he is, who might've kidnapped him, what they want to use him for, but beneath the panic there's determination.

He made it this far; he won't let them win now.

Once he realizes the phone is broadcasting, he curses loudly and switches it off.

This plan would probably have gone a lot better if he hadn't been Skyping it. ]

He waits before he switches on the phone to answer, and now he's trying to pump as much threat and danger into his eyes as he can, but mostly he looks wounded. ]

[ There is a palpable pause between Jo's message and Kevin's answer. Why should he trust her? He's never heard of Cape Kore, and this place looks like a place that people don't usually trust. It almost reminds him a little of Sucrocrop, only less corp and more... residential creepiness.

He looks like an animal about to bolt when he finally goes to reply. ]

What is this place? Who are you?

[Martha's a doctor. She's extremely concerned about this kid who looks like he's about to keel over.]

Hello? Hey! Do you need food? [Answer yes... Or water?

[ Does he need food? Probably. He thinks he's been eating whatever's been handy, and Dean's not bad at remembering to leave food within Kevin's reach, but they've been busy lately.

Even though she's talking like a doctor, he's still suspicious. He can't trust anyone. ]

Who runs this place? Who brought me here? [ Yes, he is ignoring all her questions. ]

[Kevin will find the next doorway he tries to pass through blocked by a serious-looking man in Winchester-style layers; Michael hasn't bothered to snap up the typical suit and tie that most angels prefer. The faint sound of wings beating the air explains his sudden appearance, if Kevin is paying close attention.]

Kevin Tran, isn't it?

[It's the cuneiform that first caught Michael's attention, but face to face it's all but impossible for an angel not to recognize a prophet.

And, since Raphael already has custody of Chuck, that makes this one his.]

[ Kevin lets out a small yelp when he suddenly comes across a new person, and he raises the bookshelf threateningly, almost bringing it down on Michael before he decides to wait and see who he is and what he wants. ]

How do you know my name?! [ His voice is shrill and his panic is evident. If he doesn't like Michael's answer, he's going to get the shelf. ]

[ Sam's current condition is awful. He's got dark circles under his eyes, his hair is only somewhat tamed and he feels like he's been run over back a semi truck.

This doesn't keep him from reaching out to Kevin, though. Considering the fact the prophet seems intent on destroying the entire facility with a bookshelf, it's probably a good idea to get his attention.

Shooting off a text should be quick enough, and it's hard not to make too many typos considering how badly he just wants to pass out. ]

Kevin, it's Sam Winchester. Calm down, give me a call. I'll explain what's happening here, but you're safe.

[ After he sends that text, there's a small frown and he quickly sends another: ]

Safer than back home, anyway.

[ The text gives him a little bit of hope, but he can't be sure it's Sam, so he does what the message says and calls him. ]

How did I introduce myself to you when we first met? [ If "being chased by Sam through the woods" counts as an introduction. Kevin had been so spooked that he'd blurted out what was most on his mind: the fact that he was in Advanced Placement and trying to get into college, i.e. trying not to go crazy over some slabs of rock in the woods. It's so weird when he thinks about how different he was not that long ago at all, so he tries not to. ]

Whoa, whoa, dude. Going Rambo on that shelf might be a mega stress reliever, but probably not as helpful as you'd imagine.

[ she waving and trying to get your attention, kevin, pick up the phone. ]

[ He's getting quicker at answering the phone, especially when people are acting like the opposite of demons. ]

There wasn't anything else in my room I could use. [ He's going to need to change that soon, too. ] I wasn't about to go out there without a weapon. I don't even know what "out there" is.

[ Well that- That did not look good ]

Hey, kid.

[ Even if he isn't quite a kid so much but. Whatever. It works, and she doesn't have a name ]

I'd stop a moment.

[ Kevin answers, but he's still moving through the center, board under his arm and bag of notes dragging along on the ground as he walks. ]

Why? I could hole up and panic in here, but I'd really rather find a place to hide that's different from wherever they dumped me, whoever they are.

The Winchesters haven't got you killed yet? I'm surprised. No, really. I think this must be a new record for them.

[ Hi Kevin! ]

... What did the bookshelf do to you? Did it give you a funny look?

[ A familiar face. Considering who it is, he's not sure if that's good or bad. Sure, she helped them before, but she is a demon, and Kevin doesn't have the highest opinion of demons, what with having been tortured by Crowley and all. ]

I don't go down that easily. [ There have been a few times when Kevin should have died: Sucrocorp, the second time Crowley got him, the third time Crowley got him. Kevin manages to escape every time, somehow. ]

I needed a weapon. There weren't many options in my room.

Darling, I can appreciate your taking an initiative, but that's a terrible idea at present.

[She's talking about the shelf, of course. With the angry way people are acting, no one should give other people an excuse to attack them.]

Why's that? [ He's not doubting her advice, but he's not taking it until he gets more information. ]

[Oh dear, that's a face Samandriel recognizes, and while it's a bit of a shock to see Kevin so suddenly, he's quick to respond for fear of the little prophet hurting himself or someone else with that bookshelf.]

While I understand your fear and wanting to be prepared for an attack upon waking in an unfamiliar place, that's not a particularly wise idea.

[There's a fairly serious look on his face, but it's marked with concern. Poor Kevin doesn't look so great, and yeah, the angel is a bit worried.]

Are you alright, Kevin?

[ Aw, this guy. He was okay. Like most angels, he did his best, and then didn't actually do anything helpful at all.

But at least Kevin recognizes him and knows he can trust him. That means a lot. ]

I'm okay. I feel better with something I can use as a weapon. Where are you? And where are we in general?

[Steve knows panic when he sees it. That and a desperate fight for survival. He's impressed at the weapon choice, given the limited options.

He obviously needs some help. Steve can't hear anything happening off screen to indicate an immediate attack, but it's clear that he's getting geared up for something. Or maybe he's just getting prepared.]

Son, you look like you could use some help.

[It's a default slip. Everyone feels so much younger than Steve, even if the age difference isn't obvious. Son is everyone under 25 by default.]

Why don't you take a second and tell me what's happening. I think I can help you.

[ Kevin normally wouldn't have minded it if he hadn't spent the last year or so being tortured and nearly killed by the King of Hell. And all the important stuff -- the being tortured, the being prepared to die -- he did all on his own. The rescue was important too, obviously, but that doesn't still weigh on him like everything else does. ]

Why should I trust you? [ His expression is accusing. No, really, Dad. Tell Kevin why he should. ]

[ There isn't a lot of friendliness from Castiel. He remembers their last interaction and he can't say that he feels bad about it. In fact, he's still annoyed at Kevin's fear and inaction as it seems to continue here.

But then he also sees Raphael reaching out to him and annoyed as he is, Kevin is still important, both because of what he can do and who he is and because Dean seems to care about him a good deal. ]

[ Well, Kevin isn't too impressed with Cas either, considering Kevin did finally read the tablet for him, and Cas ignored him. The frostiness in Cas's tone just... is annoying, and he shoots Cas a look when he replies to him. ]
